On the one hand, I agree. On the other hand, I assume she’s gotta be mentally ill if she’s stayed this long. Women who stay with abusers stay with them because they have problems, not because they haven’t had the opportunity to leave. I agree with the person up thread who said that she’s probably a victim of abuse herself. I also believe that Josh was probably a molestation victim, and/or maybe even a victim of incest.

If he ends up looking at hard time, it will be interesting to see if he outs someone else as his abuser in his defense (perhaps his dad? who knows).
