The biggest impact in the 08’s because COVID and DA to GA to ECNL but other ages will see the same thing. This will push girls down to Red and Red to White, etc. I have a hard time believing any girl trying out for ECNL would take a Red team position. I wonder how many GA girls would take Red or look for a new team?

Why would a kid leave a GA team to play on a B team? Serious question?

If they are sick of the travel and time commitment and want a little more flexibility in high school.

But the PP was implying that the GA kid was being cut at their home club. Frankly, most kids tryout at the same level elsewhere before they take a demotion.

quit is probably more likely. There are only so many spots on ECNL rosters to go around. Would a girls who misses the cut at Arlington be good enough to take a spot from an already rostered girl at McLean or BRYC?

But if they missed tryouts/ID sessions for other clubs who are going to be making their offers in a couple days they either have to stay or when you say quit, that means, quit soccer altogether?

Yep it’s good business decision on Arlington part. Let’s face it ECNL teams really only look for player from other ECNL teams. So where are this player going to go?

Ah yes - the ECNL teams only recruit players who are already in ECNL troll appears on another thread. The fact that this position is clearly nonsense doesn't stop you, does it?

LOL it’s reality. There is a certain level of athleticism at ECNL teams. After a year or two of conditioning and strength training it is very hard for a non ECNL girl player to break in. Notice I did not say individual skills or speed of play. It is the physical and athletic nature of ECNL(and former DA) teams that separate the girls.

This is 100% TRUE.

Please the is the age when kids narrow to one sport. If you think that the kid playing travl soccer, AAU basketball, and travel lacrosse deciding to focus on soccer isn't as well conditioned as the kid with a year of ECNL under their belt you are off your rocker

They may be as well conditioned but they are rarely a better soccer player. If they make an ECNL team it is due to their athleticism. They have a leash to learn and develop but they will find out that almost all ECNL or GA players are also athletic and they also happen to be pretty good at soccer too. Being a multisport athlete will get a kid through the door but they may be behind in a few key areas in soccer that even their athleticism can't make up for.

Who was this meeting for? My DD is an 05 and we didn’t hear about it.

Any parent of a squad player (not a starter) is at risk of being cut.... Any GA player/parent that has given the coach any shit this year will be replaced by a player of a similar or lesser level of ability! DO NOT expect any loyalty... If you gave the coach any grief emailed about playing time, talked to other coaches about your coach or generally annoyed the coach... You kid is off GA and won't be an ECNL player

I meant offers to 'new' players, not existing ones.

Is it true they can't due this before May 1st/tomorrow?

I believe they cannot offer (cannot technically even communicate with) any current ECNL players before 5/1. But can do whatever with players from other leagues, including GA.

Nothing says U14 Arlington players like "If I'm not top team I won't play for the club"

Sounds like 90% of parents from any club whose DD was on a top team.

What team meeting. Certainly not for the 2008 GA team. They are in NC
