Curious about this too. Was this just to prepare the parents for the coming days when some get offers and some don't? |

Sounds like 90% of parents from any club whose DD was on a top team. |
You people live in fantasy world. U14 is the time there are major changes at ALL clubs. If you had older siblings in the Club this would not be a shock. If a Club has the higher level teams---there is always an influx of players right before HS(8th grade) or in early HS. Parents don't want to travel too much in the younger years--but as the kids get older and are developed--they will be willing to take them a bit farther for the exposure. This is NOT unique to Arlington. This is a true of any high level program anywhere in the Country. What I am surprised (though it's Arlington I shouldn't be ) is the sheer level of ENTITLEMENT.

Where do you get disbanded? The meet last night was to prep the lower teams for lots of movement(demotions). |
Disbanded? No. Add a few select talented players more like it. |

Why is Arlington Girls 2008 the only team from Arlington I CONSTANTLY read about on this forum?
The parents must be real PIAs. No wonder they want to clean house
|
you do realize that tons of girls quit at that age. You may disagree with their reasons, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen in very large numbers |
Yep it’s good business decision on Arlington part. Let’s face it ECNL teams really only look for player from other ECNL teams. So where are this player going to go? |
Yes. Many quit for numerous reasons in both genders at this age. But---it doesn't discount any of the other things stated. New players always influx the Academy/DA/ECNL programs. They are designed to be that way....feed from across the DMV. If an Arlington player is at the level of play then, no problem. But--it isn't a case where you brought your kid over young to 'secure' your spot 3 years down the road. It's a new deal at HS age. |
Christ, these parents must be new to youth soccer. NEVER trust a soccer club and loyalty is not a thing. Don't you know--every year you should have something in your back pocket for exactly this reason? My kids always do. That way in a situation like this, they could just walk and accept elsewhere. |
Smart. |
You can tell at the end of the year if your kid is an impact player or not. If the kid isn't playing much, not starting, etc....you should always prepare them for the worst and look at other options too. |
Stop being deliberately provocative. The issue is that some kids are commuting quite a distance for the chance to play on a competitive team with the attendant development and recruiting advantages. If you get cut, and Arlington is your local club, then you stay on the red team. But if you were commuting fifteen miles to play in the A team and you get cut, then you probably find a more local club rather than continue to commute to play on the B team. There's nothing obnoxious about that - it's just common sense. |
Are there a lot of non-Arlington (non-Arl residents) players currently on the 08 team? |
