Just got a 2021 Ford Expedition with captains chairs. My 6ft+ husband can absolutely fit comfortably in the third row. It was the best leg room of all we tested, by far. Love it!! |
How big is the trunk when you have the third row down? NP here trying to ditch my minivan, but I regularly drive 5-7 people with lacrosse bags, long poles, etc. |
We despise our Acadia (but we have the 2014 version)... big money pit. Spent over $2,800 in the past two years trying to solve loud thunking noise in front suspension or steering column. Three separate visits to the dealership and over $2,800 later and everything they've told us we needed to do to solve the issue has been an utter failure. Driving the Acadia now is like some sort of mental torture. As FWIW, the above $$$ doesn't includes thousands we've spent on other problems. We've vowed to never buy a GMC/Buick/Chevy again because this car is so disappointing. This is the 6th car I've owned and hands down the worst. I hope the newer models are better for those buying them. |
Using all 3 rows the truck is about the same as Tahoe/Yukon. But lacrosse bags, sticks could definitely fit along the aisle with captains seats in second row. |

| I have 2020 Pilot Elite and love it |
Can you park it in a standard garage though? |
| Does anyone have the GLS350? I’m curious about the car seat situation and trying to access the third row. We need a new family car but also have a new baby on the way so need something where we don’t have to remove the car seat to access. |
| VW Atlas, Subaru Ascent & Ford Explorer are all really good choices. I’m sour on the Palisade & Kia Telluride. So much hype, it’s ridiculous. I think they’re ugly too. |
Agree. I'm also not going to go hunting for a car, go on a waitlist, or pay a deposit sight unseen. |
Has your dealership looked into you ball bearings on your vehicle? I had a Buick and had a similar issue and it was the ball bearings. I do like my Buick and find the car vet reliable overall. |
I could have written this same exact post. Love my Telluride and definitely worth the hunt the PP complained about! |
We have the Subaru Ascent and I came to this thread to recommend it. Feels roomy to me though we only have two kids and the pandemic started just after we bought it so there have only been a couple of occasions where we have had more than the four of us on it but we did have my inlaws on it early on so 4 adults and two kids. Very safe and reliable. |

We have an MDX and it works for us, but the third row is small.
We rented an Infinity QX90 over vacation and that car is roomy! Definitely take a look. |
Sorry, QX80 |
