Why doesn’t God reveal himself in unambiguous way?

Once you decide to raise your own vibration to meet the vibration of the spiritual world, you’ll see all kinds of amazing things. Everyone gets there eventually. It often takes several lifetimes. Jesus was able to do the things he did because he was able to walk the earth yet remain connected to spirit. He said “these things you can do, and greater”. Spend time in meditation. Ask for signs. Pay attention to what is happening around you. Slow down and notice. You’ll start seeing all kinds of magic.

Several lifetimes? Don’t Christians believe in Heaven (or Hell) not reincarnation?

Taking several lifetimes to get to the point of elevating your mind to higher vibrations is very Hindu Dharma like where reincarnation until the point of Moksha is the belief.

God is God of everyone - not just Christians.

Yes, that’s also a very Hindu belief. Christians and Abrahamic religions in general have the belief that there are false gods and a true god. That’s why they have to proselytize and convert people.

I don’t think most Christians believe in reincarnation or that their God is the same as God in Hindu Dharma.

To the OP: Here’s what is said in the Bhagavad Gita

BG 4.8
paritrāṇāya sādhūnāṁ vināśhāya cha duṣhkṛitām
dharma-sansthāpanārthāya sambhavāmi yuge yuge

“To protect the righteous, to annihilate the wicked, and to reestablish the principles of dharma I appear on this earth, age after age.”

This is why we have the 10 avatars and why we have certain established ‘holy’ people that have attained enlightenment while here on earth that continue to teach the dharma.

PP here — do you mind explaining more about avatars?
My child watches The Legenda of Korra where there is an avatar trained to bend light/wind/earth/fire. Is it like that?

No, thought the concepts of avatar, chakra, words like Bhumi, Naga, things like the third eye, the sun temple and sun warriors and such from shows like Avatar and Legend of Korra are all very influenced from Hinduism.

In Sanskrit, avatar means to 'descend. It is when Brahman (The higher power which we do not believe has any form, known as God) takes a form and descends to earth when needed. The 10 forms pretty much follow an evolutionary view of the world. Scattered in between the 10 Avatars are enlightened teachers.

Thank you for explaining this! That concept makes sense to me. It sounds like this is something that could also be reflected in the concept of “prophets”. Enlightened souls that experience the wisdom and enlightenment of a formless higher power, which is then shared with others through “testimony” or “teaching”.

Thank you!

It is self-evident from the creation God exists. Spiders "just so happen" to have spinnerets, "just so happen" to have oiled foot glands to prevent them getting stuck in their own web, "just so happen" to know how to spin a web, even in the dark without using the eyes.

Birds "just so happen" to know how to build a nest, "just so happen" to know to sit on eggs until they hatch and feed the baby birds. Your veins "just so happen" to connect to your heart and lungs for blood to carry oxygen and nutrients, you have bones that "just so happen" to support your weight. The eye "just so happens" to have an optical cord connected to the brain.

How many "just so happens..." does it take for the rational mind to conclude that it did not "just so happen"?

This is literally the stupidest reason I have ever heard for believing in God.

Rational minds conclude that it "just so happens" because of evolution.

Yes, Evolution, that magic wand explaining everything.

God is the Magic wand that explains everything, as in the "self-evident" post above.

Evolutionists are fooling themselves and the public by believing in magical powers of their favorite tool, natural selection, which they wave as a magic wand to solve every problem in biology

It's frequently heard in sermons

Because god doesn't exist. None of them do. Do you believe in Osiris, Zeus, or Zoraster? At some point a switch flips, and you realize that believing in Jesus or Allah or Yahweh is no more "true" than Osiris, Zeus, or Zoraster.

They're all made up stories created to help explain things for people. But all are entirely manmade.

God also revealed his true nature with Gandhi -- because humans are both good and evil and we made God in our own image

Isn’t God made us in his image?
Are you reversing this message.

Well, since the words saying man was created in the image of God/gods (not sure if the plural "us" in Genesis is like a royal we) were spoken by human beings to other human beings and at some point physically written down by human beings. . . . .

Or, as Clarence Darrow I believe said during the Scopes trial, God created man in his image, and then we returned the favor.

In what format OP.

I presume .god ?

There was a movie--"The Next Words You Hear" in the 50s. I guess God was thrilled when humans invented TV, since (as Galileo noted), the divinely inspired Bible missed out on the existence of Saturn's moons. (Strictly speaking, Galileo said the Bible should not be considered a scientific treatise.)

God spoke to Job. Are you like him? Job 1:1 "that man was perfect."

Matthew 13:13 - "Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.”

Job? Are you kidding me! The guy that God tortured just to basically win a bet against Satan. It is absolutely sadistic and the fact that Job is held up as some sort of model is really disgusting. It encourages people to continue to believe in a cult despite it really doing nothing for them in the hopes that there will be some eternal pay off for their devotion.
