A letter full of very ignorant statements from people who clearly have no knowledge of how things work outside their very tiny world.

Victim mentality is a sort of internal prison.

This is a common tactic by the right against the left: to attack the words. Defund the police. Black lives matter. Systemic racism. You poke holes in the words. Fine. Words matter, and the left is picky about language, too. But what lefties (like me) often hear is that those on the right dismiss the words and reject the conversation in whole.

So how do we have this conversation about what many call systemic racism and you and many others call a collection of individual biases? This bias plays out against people of color in multiple venues. In schools. When dealing with police. In courts. In housing. In the professional world. While walking. While birdwatching.

So it's not codified in law, but it sure is pervasive. How do we talk about it and how do we make our society more just?

Blacks are not the only ones who face individual bias. So do people who are fat, ugly, differently abled, pock-marked, speak with an accent, have a high voice, dirty, Asian, Hispanic, Jews, Arabs, gypsies, women, short...I could go on forever. Blacks might FEEL like their discrimination is worse, but that's probably what everyone thinks about their own experience. Imagine going around life butt ugly? It’s a really tough life. Really. In ways you probably can't even imagine. I should know. The answer isn't to tell everyone what to think and burn everything down. I think we just need to (1) remind everyone of the golden rule that we should treat others the way we want to be treated; (2) find it in our hearts to love, understand, and forgive; and (3) constantly try to improve ourselves and our community.

Just a thought. Most people are generally moderate, but extremes on both sides are dangerous. You should self-assess and see where you fall, it may be eye opening. Plus most mainstream people, even conservatives, are not QAnon.

A black man DARED TO KNEEL during the anthem at a football game and white conservatives cancelled him and his career and told black athletes to shut up because they should stick to sports. Meanwhile police are shooting or killing black people left and right while gun carrying anarchists at the Capitol don't get arrested, but prove to me that systemic racism still exists because my eyes can't seem to see any? If you would have watched the hours of evidentiary hearings in the state legislatures in MI, PA, GA, AZ & NV, you would have seen the evidence for yourself. But, no, it is you who was brain fried by main stream media who led you to believe otherwise. Just because you let the media form your opinions doesn't mean everyone does.

The letter sounds pretty good to me.

Many of us on this forum have been trying to explain the same thing for months.

"I object to the idea that Blacks are unable to succeed in this country without aid from government or from whites. Brearley, by adopting critical race theory, is advocating the abhorrent viewpoint that Blacks should forever be regarded as helpless victims, and are incapable of success regardless of their skills, talents, or hard work. Yeah, I am a political moderate who thinks there is a lot of room for discussion about how political discourse and speech happens in schools these days, but this "Biden didn't win" Qanon nonsense is just off-putting and crazy.

I am tired of people characterizing every person who does not believe in their liberal, socialist causes as a nut job or Qnon person. Blame the makeup of the court on Ginsburg - who refused to step down during Obama 8 years.

Police are not killing left and right, that is false and those that get killed believe they have the right to injure, kill and resist arrest in reaction to criminal activity... Depsite warrants or long rap sheets .
