+100

Exactly.

These statements no sense. What is asinine is people not understanding what they are buying and how they are being exploited. You would think that if you’re going to have your kid participate with an organization, you should spend some time researching that organization.

They make absolute sense. Alexandria does an excellent job teaching kids to play soccer. As good a job as any club in the area, and better than most. They don't charge any more than many other clubs, and considerably less than some. That is not exploiting anyone or anything. Almost everyone I know who has kids there is happy, and the kids are happy.

If you want to talk about organizations that exploit their customers, look at places like Loudoun (charge too much, no refund for rec during covid, poor coaching) or CYA (charge more than Alexandria for absolutely horrible development). Or DCU who block kids playing for other MLS teams while refusing to invest in their own youth program. Those are examples of exploitation.

Alexandria runs a great program. And the guy who runs it deserves every penny he pays himself.

The only thing that makes no sense is you.

Alexandria on the boards slinging more BS. Tommy continues to exploit the community and the kids suffer. If your OK with that, fine. A responsible parent would avoid putting their kid in this environment.

That wasn't Tommy. That was me. I'm a parent. I have never met Tommy. My DS, who plays for a different club, knows plenty of the kids who play for Alexandria, and has played pickup games with and against some of them on occasion as well as club games against them. I have met and talked with many Alexandria parents. My observations have all been entirely positive.

What have you got against Alexandria? Why are kids suffering? How is Tommy exploiting people (paying himself a lot is not exploitation)?

This is a false dichotomy as you sort of acknowledge. Good development leads to winning in anything other than the very short term. It takes less than a couple of months for development to pay off with improved results at U12, and maybe a little longer at U15 and up.

Exploitation, I don’t know. But definitely violating IRS laws. It will catch up to them.

Oh for heaven's sake. You are the very worst sort of busybody. My guess is he's not violating anything. But if he is - good for him. Local guy devotes his life to youth soccer vs bunch of heartless, mean, tax collector thieves. I know whose side I'm on.
