| All childcare workers and teachers have absolutely NOT been eligible since 2/1. I think they were made eligible around early March. My children attend a charter and several of their teachers just got their second shots this week, for which I am exceptionally grateful. |
Most professional workers are allowed to take off a short amount of time during the work day without having to find someone to cover their shift. When you have a medical appointment, you just come in a bit earlier or stay a little lateral make up for it. Teachers aren’t able to do that. They have to get a sub and subs are in shorter supply than ever right now. All school systems should have organized clinics on professional days and vaccinated their own people the way hospitals did. |
At our school, we have two teachers doing distance learning. Both have received vaccines in Term 3. |

I love this new argument that teachers are so busy that they do not have 10 minutes to allocate to basic adult functioning.
"WHEN COULD I DO THAT?" she typed into the internet. "When could I possibly make time to do anything online?!" she added before hitting submit. She was lucky that she had scheduled herself 15 minutes for a bath on Wednesday, although this did mean that she needed to be fed by IV drip for the day. "The sacrifice is truly worth the plummeting test scores," she thought. |

Haha all of those people saying they don't have time to find a vaccine location are just full of nonsense. -a teacher who is vaccinated and tired of other teachers making us look like whiners all the time |
| I work in childcare and easily got my first shot in Feb and 2nd shot last week. I actually delayed from when I was first eligible since I had Covid and figured I would sit back a couple of weeks and let others go first since I had some immunity. How hard could this possibly be? |
+1 |
HAHAHAHAHA |
Did I say I know the staffing at your school? |
Yawn. And if your child's teacher took the few hours during instructional time you would be screaming about how your childs teacher works for just an hour a day. The whining, complaining, crying about what teachers are doing/not doing for you is getting soooooooo old. 15:52...lemme guess, your boss has no idea you have your hand down your pants as you "work remotely". You sound really important. |
That is inaccurate. If a teacher did not return for Term 3, due to health concerns or the lack of demand at their school, they were not offered the vaccine through the city in February. They just become eligible two-three weeks ago in the District. Several will not be fully vaccinated at the beginning of Term 4. It is moving much faster now, but unfortunately that is how the District managed the process. Our school has communicated no change from Term 3 to Term 4 and there are still spots for in-person learning for those who want it. |
This is not a universal experience. CVS has extremely limited capability right now. People that I know who are DCPS that were not IPL for Term 3 have only been vaccinated at this point through another state or through the hospital system because they have an underlying condition. |
Exactly. |
Plenty of time all day Wednesday. |
