It's ... just not that time-consuming. I'm in-person and got a spot back in February when the process was a total cluster, as did many of my colleagues.

You go t a spot because DCPS helped you. There were designated sites for teachers. Term 4 is different and everyone is on their own. Nice try though.

all teachers have been eligible since early february. if they haven’t managed to get vaccinated, it’s because they chose not to.

Exactly. I am a sub going in for IPL and had no trouble getting vaccinated in March. People teaching in DCPS/DCPCS have had ample opportunity to get vaccinated.

At my school we are close to meeting IPL demand according to my principal. Some people still need to teach the families that have chosen to stick with DL. Those teachers may be vaccinated, or not.

That is absolutely not true. Only school staff who were assigned to in-person in February were eligible to be vaccinated in late January (just a week before they went back to school.) Those who were assigned virtual in Term 3 did not get any priority vaccines but are now (as of about two weeks ago) able to get the vaccine by signing up along with everyone else in DC who has a pre-existing condition etc. there’s no special pool of vaccines and appointments for teachers this time around.

Not at my school. Priority was given to IPL teachers only. I don’t know a SINGLE virtual teacher who got the vaccine in term 3. I know you are a parent troll.

Do they have less time to search for a spot than all the other essential workers working in person? CVS spots for teachers only release at 6am -- are you working then?

Do grocery store workers go home and do 3-4 more hours of work answer emails and creating materials?

Most professional adults do. What is your point?

And most professional adults work during the summer.

Teachers are among the very limited groups who can get vaccinated at CVSs in DC. I believe new appointments become available around 6am. https://www.cvs.com/immunizations/covid-19-vaccine

We are still in term 3 and all teachers, virtual or not, were made eligible weeks ago. My kid’s teacher got vaccinated in DC two weeks ago

I have been going in for IPL but subs weren’t a priority early on. Even the FT virtual teachers were higher priority. You don’t know every teacher and sub at every school, do you?

Yes, there was. Four close family members and friends are DCPS teachers- they all got a spot at cvs in less than two minutes once they went in, checked a box saying they are a teacher and boom done. All were able to set an appointment within five days from when they did it. One got a spot two days later

So... the Mayor just extended Covid leave until May 27. Not the WTU- the mayor.

Every single teacher at my school at my school who applied for ADA for term 4, received it. Folks with asthma- are still virtual. Obesity- virtual.

And this will probably get my post deleted and I might end up blocked... but for real for real... all the teachers back at my school are white. We have a 40% white staff and that 40% makes up 100% of the IPL teachers.

that’s a lie. all childcare workers and teachers have been eligible in DC since Feb 1. https://coronavirus.dc.gov/release/mayor-bowser-announces-vaccination-appointments-will-open-child-care-providers-and

and now CVS is open as well for teachers

teachers have nobody to blame but themselves if they arent vaxxed.

Interesting- at my school all the teachers back except one don’t have children under the age of 18. But there is a mix of genders and races of teachers back.

If a teacher wanted to get the vaccine they good have. They did get priority. DC has pretty much opened vaccines up to everyone now. They don’t verify if you have a high risk condition or not. I know folks who have just shown up a vaccine site and were able to get an apt due to no shows. No more excuses teachera
