What happens to unaccompanied minor immigrants who can't reach their relative?

These aren’t the same circumstances.

The places in which these children are staying are *exactly* the same places DCUM’s finest referred to as “concentration camps.” And you know it. Your denial and distraction fools no one.

Nobody's arguing that they aren't. They're arguimg that Trump deliberagely created orphans. And you know it. Your obfuscation fools no one.

Do you also believe the criminal justice system also creates orphans when American parents are jailed for breaking the law?

They don't get jailed for jaywalking. But you don't care. You love to see children tormented and tortured, because their skin is brown.

And there it is. The hyperbolic and hysterical language favored by liberals when sanity and common sense has utterly failed.

Nope. Remember “kids in cages”?? Well, guess what. There are still kids in cages. Just thousands more than ever before. And you’re fine with that. Because Biden.

Nobody is saying they're fine with it. The only people who are fine with it are MAGA, because the children have dark skin.

And again! Gotta play that race card! Especially when you have zero defense for the indefensible.

Being in another country without permission is against the law and is not the equivalent of jaywalking. What is the point of passports and visas if people can just walk into another country because they feel like it?

You apparently love to see kids tortured because they are still in the same cages as before and you don't have a problem with it.

If the relative doesn’t pan out, they seek to identify another relative or close family friend.

Sometimes kids are actually sent back to reunite with their family in their home country.

So does anyone check if those people are actual relatives? There is no way to find out, right?

There's like 5 immigration threads existing at the same time about the same thing and they're all started by racists.

At one point during the Obama administration, they became so over whelmed that they were eventually doing very minimal checks on the adults who showed up to collect the children. This story shows how easy it was for an adult to show up and have a child released to their custody.

Another poster brought up a good point regarding adults posing as children. I think most people posting her are truly unaware that there is an actual genetic difference in heights between Americans and say Guatemalans. It would not be unusual at all to have an 18 yr old who was physically the size of an American 14/15 yr old. Couple that with thousands of kids to process and very few staff and I am sure they aren't questioning too closely. As far as getting a doctor, meh, I am positive that is the actual procedure written in some manual but it's likely never done because it's time consuming and costs money. And then the option is hand x-ray to check for bone age and that gives you a range not an exact date so it would likely be the doctor would ask the age, look at the xray, and say sure that seems within range.

So, because some here are concerned about the unprecedented amount of illegal immigrants entering this country and are concerned that the policies and the rhetoric of this administration has encouraged families and unaccompanied minors to make the dangerous trek then these people are racist?

Do you even know the meaning of the word, "racist?"

The big shelters have medical teams on staff.

The Homeland Security Act of 2002 requires that the government to house them, then place them with vetted relatives, while their immigration proceedings are pending.

Thanks for the answer.

UPDATE: An HHS official just confirmed to me that 13,061 unaccompanied minors have actually been located.

ICE has also arrested 422 sponsors for involvement in suspected child abuse or other crimes are discovered.

The abuse is determined through a multi-faceted investigation—Local police, CPS, federal agencies all involved, according to HHS.

320,000 unaccompanied minors essentially were unaccounted for under the Biden Administration. The Trump Administration has vowed to find them.
