I’m sorry to hear about the earlier cut. This is a very strange process and seems disorganized to me. But, I’m new to the art school world, so maybe it is normal. Yes, the rest of the email stated: “Please note that you will have to apply through our Post Lottery Round (which begins in April) and can find more information about that here.” |
| I really don’t understand how they could not find “qualified” students for those highly competitive programs (dance, instrumental, theatre, and vocal) when all had many, many, many students audition, and NOW think they will find them after April? |
| My daughter applied to VA and we haven’t received an acceptance or a rejection and I don’t see any info in acceptd—what am I missing? |
Us too. Where did the email come from? |
Would love to hear if students who got a rejection letter yesterday in any of these disciplines also received this same message about spaces available… |
The email came from acceptd |
Well, we didn’t get anything. And so I sent an email to Savannah Overton Williams, who previous standardized emails re auditions, etc, emphasized should be the ONLY person you directed inquiries to re application status (emphasis in original) and, drumroll, yesterday was her last day at DESA. So that is obnoxious. |
Would recommend you message through Acceptd on the same VA thread as your audition notices. |
| We get a 504 message when we go to the messages on acceptd. Are there any current parents here? Is this disorganization normal for the school or is this an unusual year? |
| We got an an email saying DC was accepted to VA, but could not find the message in our acceptd account… |
Did you try junk mail? I found some DESA Admissions emails in mine… |
I am one of the PPs who heard nothing, and no, there is nothing in junk mail. |
|
We received a rejection from VA sat night at 8:35 pm to the extent that helps. DC got into a second discipline, so she is very happy about that.
|
last night (Friday), not sat night |
Congratulations! Which one? |
