Nobody has any experience, it's only had the name for two weeks. CAMP is LMC, rebranded to focus more on he 21st century reality of writing in the entertainment business. Same program. |
from the callback experience, it seems way more interdisciplinary than my kid originally understood. To the PP's point, not sure if that's new or if we just had misunderstood the program before. |
I think that was your misunderstanding. Write/Direct/Produce/Shoot/Edit. That's always been the program. It's all there on the website. |
Traditionally the whole school was interdisciplinary and worked frequently across departments. There has been less of that and more silos but that's changing. LMC has always been the most interdisciplinary because of role of the writer/creator is more broad than any of the other arts disciplines. I appreciate that they recognize that. That's exactly why it pays to have teachers who are actively part of the industry |
| PP - thanks! Do you know how much they try and integrate arts and the rest of the standard High School programming? We are very intrigued by this program but also want to make sure that our child has access to the full range of academic options and choices |
Not sure what you mean. The arts programs and academic are separate. 8:30-2 is academic. 2pm -5pm is arts block. There are no choices in arts once you enter a program. Any integration of others arts departments in 100% dependent on the ideas students come uo with. Because CAMP students are writers/directors/producers and not necessarily performers, their projects tend to cross over into using talent from other departments, but not always. |
| For Visual Arts, do they send a notification either way to let you know if you made it to next round? Has anyone who applied to Visual Arts received a call back yet? |
Unless they’ve changed the process there are no callbacks for VA. You will get notified whether you passed the audition and then if you pass you schedule the family interview and do the academic placement test. |
| Anyone heard back about audition results? |
| Following |
| Nothing yet from Visual Arts |
| You don't hear from individual disciplines, you hear from Admissions once all the auditions are over and applications are sorted against target numbers, etc...That takes a couple weeks. |
| At the camp interviews/call back they said some candidates will get family interview invitations in a few weeks |
| Has anyone heard any updates for visual arts? |
| Shouting into the void |
