Sister books the same wedding venue I wanted to get married at

How am I not supposed to be annoyed?

Because every wedding is variations on a theme, dummy! Oh, a white dress, pink flowers, cupcakes and white twinkle lights?
HOW UNIQUE.

Let me guess, this wedding venue cranks out 30 weddings a year?

If so, it’s not a unique wedding venue. It’s just *a* wedding venue.

You already got married!

You definitely need to get over it. I'd be thrilled for my sister to use a place I couldn't afford!

I expected this to say that you got dumped right before getting to the alter and having your reception at that chosen venue.

Then yes, I would agree it would be very insensitive to have her wedding there.

This is ridiculously OTT though.

I'd be annoyed too. My SIL's wedding was pretty much identical to mine: colors, theme, flowers. They weren't involved in my wedding at all, but for her wedding they raved about how unique and beautiful it was. I just rolled my eyes.

I don't have a sister, but I'd be happy with a friend who got married at one of my dream places and would be happy to participate.

Do you seriously not get that your wedding Pinterest board was composed of...wait for it...ideas you “stole” from other pinners?!

I mean, where is this? Did you grow up in a small town where there are limited wedding venues?

Petty.

Every wedding is basically the same. Don’t flatter yourself. I bet if we all posted our details, there’d be tons of overlap.

What?! You used burlap and chalkboards?! You stole my idea!!!!!

Well Op, you shouldn't have discussed it -- back then -- with your sister. She would have found it, or likely not found it and likely not booked it.

You should learn to protect yourself -more- if you know this about yourself - that you are easily hurt.

Listen, you can be basic or you can be territorial. If you decide to be both you're just going to be mad every day of your life.

This is super petty. Sounds like you have a lot of jealousy built up and you are super childish.

Wait til she steals your baby name, for her dog. She sounds like a pill.

You've been married for years and you're still feeling bitter about not getting the princess day of your dreams? I would have thought that by now it's more about the marriage than the wedding details, but I guess some people never figure it out.
