Being Erica on Hulu or prime. A Canadian show from 10 years ago. But someone wrote a nyt about it as comfort tv and it totally is! So comforting. PG romance and all

Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society on Netflix is lovely.

Some more movies that I don't think have been mentioned:

Beyond the Lights
Love & Basketball
Shakespeare in Love
Silver Linings Playbook
Brooklyn

Friday Night Lights
Alias
Outlander
Season 2 Fleabag
Lost
Season 3 & 4 Dawson's Creek (just skip over everything that isn't Joey and Pacey)
The Mindy Project
Felicity
Before Sunrise trilogy

Me again, I forgot:

To All the Boys I've Loved Before
The Good Wife (Cary and Kalinda are smoking hot together)

Also, I've been reliably informed that the leads in You're The Worst after terrific together.

I'm almost done with the first season of You're the Worst. It's this insane mix of crass and snark and sex and, strangely, sweetness that shouldn't be so appealing but really, really is. Definitely NOT PG.

Can also recommend Lovesick and --of course-- Offspring.

I will. And I appreciate it

They really draw out the romance over a long time, so you get very excited when your favorite characters get together! Plus, breathtaking scenery, and many funny scenes. (I'm a superfan if you can't tell.)

OP bumping this thread from many months in the future...

I watched and really enjoyed CLOY, and yes, it ticked all the warm fuzzy boxes. So, as promised, thank you all!

Some others I worked through: Normal People (far from PG, and not really "heart warming" but I loved it nonetheless), Shtisel (a DCUM recommendation -- not a romance, really, but a completely endearing and wonderful show that really opened my eyes), Never have I ever (I can't really get excited about teenagers hooking up but the show is lovely and funny), All Creatures Great and Small -- which does have a romance --, and Miss Scarlett and the Duke, which also has a very very understated budding romance and I am eager to see future seasons.

I'm going to try this Heartland show now. If anyone has other recommendations, keep them coming, I really appreciated this thread when I first created it

THIS.

Crash Landing is so good. The lead actor / actress are gorgeous and the supporting cast is a delight.

X a million. In fact, a lof of K-dramas have this exact kind of romance - it's what they are known for. If you watch CLOY and like it, come back here, and I can recommend 20-30 more, just as good (OK, almost as good, b/c CLOY remains my original and favorite).

Also, the leads from CLOY are getting married in March! I know this shows my pathetic lack of a personal life, but I am super excited for them - they really seem perfect for each other.

CLOY ruined me for EVERY OTHER K-anything. Everything else is jut too silly-sweet and lots of teenage romance and too strong man leads/ weak women.

Carry on.

I would love to read that thread. What would a Prince George’s county romantic interest be like? Sounds intriguing!

That’s sort of how I read it too. I was all set to recommend the mystery series by A. L. Herbert. I think the first one is Murder with Fried Chicken and Waffles. They’re set in PG County, there’s usually some mild romantic sub-plot, and there are recipes that sound seriously delicious.

Not a tv show but I love the movie Arranged!

Someone’s probably mentioned this already, but also The Good Place. Eleanor and Chidi are a couple for the ages.

If you don’t mind kind of cringe-y humor, the main character in I’m Sorry and her husband always struck me as super-sweet as well. They jokingly criticize each other, but with so much affection underlying it that I had to Google whether the actors are married in real life. (Nope.)

This is so weird, it’s like PP was posting from inside my brain! (I even googled whether the I’m Sorry actors are married.)

Was going to suggest Alta Mar (the show’s crazy but everyone’s so attractive!) and Crash Landing on You (so much chemistry, the actors are getting married in real life). But agree with the others here too.

Got so excited by the post I quoted above that I didn’t make it through to see your update, OP! Glad to have you in the CLOY club.
