Do your sheet sets match?

Yes. Why wouldn't they match?

DH is a stomachache sleeper. He ripped the fitted sheet with his toenails. It was the spot where his feet rest.

All our sheets are matched and if one sheet from a set ripped or tore, I’d get rid of the set. I don’t know why I’d want an odd set of sheets.

They match, and last for 5+ years. If one rips at that point I’d use it as an excuse to get new ones.

PS as with PPs the old sheets are not trashed yet, they go on to live as pet bedding, drop cloths, Halloween costumes etc.

We have this same thing happen. And we also use almost all taupe / griege sheets so that they match well enough to use together.

we mix and match

Anonymous wrote:I intentionally mix and match my sheets. So right now, my duvet cover, fitted sheet and two pillowcase sets are all different from one another. I have three different prints and one solid. I tend to buy in similar color families - oranges, pinks, greens mixed with cream bases - all of which match the other decor in our room. A lot of simple geometric prints with occasional bold prints. When I buy solid color sheets and pillowcases, I only buy cream. I switched over from white as I noticed the patterned sheets I gravitated towards were cream based patterns and I hated using white pillowcases with them. Basically, I buy sheets that work within my larger linen collection, so there’s no reason to toss an entire set if one piece of it wears out or is destroyed.

You are my hero. I aspire to this.

Mismatched sheets....never. But I only buy white. Boring, but practical!

What about pillow cases?

Seems we have lots of extras. Use for muddy paws, car seat protection, or on sofa pillows when I am determined to take a nap and not go to bed.

PP again, accidentally found recently, like a PP, that some of our different sheet sets matched. Necessity led the way to serendipitous combos.

Anonymous wrote:I would throw the whole set out, but I’m a borderline minimalist, I don’t keep extra stuff around. I have a sheet set for our room (king bed) and a backup set, and a sheet set for the guest bed (full) and a backup set. So if a fitted sheet ripped, I’d have to buy a new set, and I wouldn't keep around the top of flat sheet or pillow cases because I don’t have use for more than two sets per size.

This, exactly.

Except you can donate them to pet shelters, which is better than throwing them out. I also find them useful as drop cloths, etc.

If this is happening all the time, you need to trim toenails and get pedicures/wear more lotion on your heels. My DH has ruined a few sheets due to his heels until he started working on his feet.

I've used the extra top sheet for my kids to play on. I hate kinetic sand and slime but they can use it while they are on the sheet. They also build forts with sheets.

I always have 4 pillows on my bed and normally it's a mix of 2 different sets of pillow cases.
