Am I the only one who dislikes Christmas posts on social media?

I like seeing photos of trees and pajamas and smiling children but I do not need (nor does ANYONE) to see 80 photos of your kids opening every single gift.

Xmas tree & gift photos are the best!

Me too OP. Even if it feels innocuous to post, it always looks odd.

I love all holidays posts on social media. We can't be with our extended families or friends so I think it is a great way to share. They make me happy.

I love them. It's great to see the most up-to-date and happy pictures of my friends and their families.

Love it and would love to see yours, OP. I need to see happiness right now.

Ok.

That’s the whole point of social media, though, isn’t it? I know it can be used for other purposes, but ultimately it’s sharing your life online. I don’t disagree with you, OP, I don’t love the pictures either, but I also expect that’s exactly what I’ll find on social media.

I dislike Christmas in general, does that count?

I feel you OP. Seemed off this year... we had a really lovely Christmas but I don’t feel the need to see other peoples COVID celebrations.

I posted something similar on the Jennifer Aniston thread, but I just think so many people were tone-dead this year in particular.

I unfollowed anyone who posted lavish meals, fancy presents, or maskless gatherings yesterday.

I’m not suffering personally, but I know many are. I think a lot of people forgot to read the room.

Like it all but the gifts.. no one cares, worse pics are of adults posing with gifts.

No one “needs” to see the photos. But it’s enjoyable to see them. We are all stuck home, so it’s a small way to connect with old friends. For those who claim it’s showing off, I don’t know what to tell you. Maybe you are feeling grouchy this year. It’s understandable
