Am I the only one who dislikes Christmas posts on social media?

Before people say I am jealous, our kids got a ridiculous amount of presents, we all wore matching pajamas, baked cookies, decorated our house for weeks, etc so we did the same as others. I just don’t feel the need to show everyone what we are doing on Christmas.

I like them, if they’re generally good (pretty or funny or both). If it’s just kids with presents and a boring caption, no thanks.

And I get why people don’t like them. They can get braggy and/or boring.

Then why are you on social media in late December?

I don't like Hallmark movies, so I don't watch the Hallmark channel.

I'm not a big fan of the pictures of all the presents under the tree.
Especially this year when a lot of people are struggling and you may not be aware of it. I like all the other Christmas posts though!

I kind of like these, just because they can be so pretty and they can feel kind of magical.

I don't really like other people's, but I like seeing my own when they pop up on the memories; I'm not really a scrapbooker/photo album maker so Facebook is the closest thing I have to a photo album.

My kids are all older now and it's fun seeing photos from 10 years ago.
I might post some from this year and just make the album private so only I see it.

They are as inevitable as pictures of kids in costumes at Halloween and sparklers on the 4th of July. If you don’t like Christmas pictures on social media, what DO you think should be on social media? Sharing moments is kind of the point.

I like them. We are kind of disorganized and so we don't really do them, except for a shot of our dog with her annual present, but it is fun to see other people's families looking nice.

To echo the pp —what do you think people should post on Facebook?

I get annoyed with people posting photos of fancy travels right now when many of us aren’t even seeing local family, but happiness at home on Christmas—post away!

I don’t do any of the above and I don’t care what people post on social media. There’s no need to play the game.

I generally don’t like to post the same thing as everyone else on FB so I don’t do it myself but everyone else seems to do it and I don’t mind if they want to share holiday greetings

I like them, but then again I am only friends on social media with people I like. It makes me happy to see the people I care about enjoying themselves.

I really likes seeing other people’s trees!

I find some of them amusing. Especially ones that judge the snot out others for getting together with others, but I can see the reflection of Grandparents visiting in the mirror.
