+1000 The Sea of Cortez and its islands are a hidden gem! |

I think French Polynesian is better than the Caribbean, but it depends if you like natural or curated islands.
I hated Papeete (the city you land in). Suggest you go right to Mooreea a nearby island. Bora Bora is further afield and very pricey. But worth seeing. |
| Depends upon the time of year. Winter is rainy season in Bora Bora but the best time for the Caribbean. Summer is the opposite. |

This is not true. It’s about a 13 hr flight to Hawaii. |
LAX to HNL is blocked for 5 hours and 55 minutes, LAX to PPT is blocked for 8 hours and 10 minutes. |
perfect, thanks |
| I've been to them all. Bora Bora is more adult and most of the other travelers won't want your kids. Caribbean islands LOVE kids (mine are younger than yours I'm sure). They're very welcoming to them in a way that's shocking as an American since most Americans don't like kids or want them in restaurants. |
We went in 2007 for our honeymoon. I'm not kidding EVERY single person there was also on their honeymoon. It was fantastic and absolutely better than Caribbean which we've done quite a bit since then (with kids). There's a lot of great beautiful places to stay in Tahiti and it's not that big a deal if you want to take your kids but just saying - there are prob no kids around That being said, it's also set up for enjoying scenery - it's just a beautiful place but I don't know that for the kids it's really all that different than a beautiful Caribbean island. One of the reasons we did it is because we honeymooned in Aug which would have been hot everything except Canada and we were OK going to an exotic place like Bora Bora once in our lives. It is A LONG haul. I mean - LONG. Something like 22 hours I think. I would not bring my kids there preferring Hawaii/Caribbeans instead. But technically, if you wanted to, it's not a big deal I just don't think it's worth it.

We flew from Chicago ORD and it was absolutely more like 22 hours given the layovers. There is no way that it's just 2.5 hours past Hawaii. Maybe distance wise but the way the flight patterns are - your layover is not working like that. It is a HAUL! I'm the PP who went there for honeymoon. |
| Tahiti is a 10 hour flight from LA (per Dream Cruises on AWE right now). |
