^^I literally laughed out loud!!

Why does no one likes Asa?

Yes, if I use a 3-syllable name, I will call him by a nickname, which is fine. I'm still not settled, though. I'm definitely leaning toward Remington or Finnegan; I like the nickname Finnbetter than Remy...but I like the name Remington better than Finnegan.

Bentley person here. My friend has had the dog over 5 years maybe more so not the same person.

My neighbor insists dogs' names should be one syllable. His dog was Norm.

Ours, recently euthanized and the world's awesomest dog, was Lebowski. It ended up being Bowski on a daily basis. People always smiled at the name. But not for a mastiff.

How about Thor? Or Zeus?

^^ that way nobody is surprised when a 180 pound canine comes galomping when called

Love this. I love animals with people names. DH doesn't want a Rottweiler, but if we ever got one I'd name him Carl.

I like the other suggestions from PPs - Ben, Walter, Stanley, Fred.

HATE the teen mom/Nascar vibe names - Bentley and basically the first six names on OPs list.

It's to soft sounding, without having any redeeming qualities like being cute/silly/funny instead (like Fluffy or Schmoopie or something).

Fair point. It’s low on my list, anyway. 😁

No to Zeus, Monster, Bear, Moose, Diesel, or the like. They’re ridiculous and way too predictable.
