I never saw it either-- however, my kid's friend submitted after November 6th. At the time I thought he was given an extension for health reasons. Didn't realize that the deadline was extended universally to 11/13. Still can't find any reference to it online. Maybe MCPS sent targeted reminders?

I thought that too, but MCPS doesn’t seem very good at targeting their communications.

It was an e-mail from noreply@mcpsmd.org, Nov. 7 or 8 I believe. Agree, don't think they target their communications.

Hmm...I didn’t receive an email-- checked spam and trash. My child submitted before the original deadline so maybe that is why we didn't receive an email.

PP here. My child also submitted before the deadline, but we did receive the e-mail.

Hmm. Maybe it depended on your home middle school. We didn’t receive it, and are at Pyle.

Extending but only telling some and not others is on-brand for MCPS admin incompetence.

I received it, at Cabin John.

Do you get other emails from MCPS? We got a districtwide announcement that came from MCPS on 11/10.

This is school-specific, but we got another message from the counseling office at our MS on 11/11, and then the PTA sent it out again the same day.

All of these came after DD had already submitted.

We got it and we're at Pyle and submitted the day the applications opened.

Maybe you just didn't notice it. It did come through amongst a bunch of emails reminding folks to fill in the parent survey about DL versus hybrid etc.

We’re in the RCMS magnet and didn’t receive notice of extension. I received probably a dozen emails about the high school application process and another dozen (and counting) about the parent preference survey.

+1 It was a regular district-wide e-mail, so my guess is some just missed it amongst all the other e-mails.

Also whether 504 or IEP

We JUST received notification of receipt today and we submitted it before the November 6 deadline.

Actually you'd have had notification of receipt when you completed the application - today's notice was saying they are now being processed and applicants can no longer go in to see the answers.

Slight difference...

I've received *3* different receipt notifications. Strange.
