Has Pride 2022 Black had anyone commit?
It has been tough all around the country due to covid. Less spots, people taking gap years, red shirted players, and transfer portal. The list goes on and on. It has no become more accepted to go into transfer portal. Sad for all the girls. Many girls selected places or homes that were not their first choice. Moral of the story open your eyes realize no one is going to get your kid recruited. They have to be willing to be open and help themselves out. Either schools were not good enough for the players or the parents misguided their kid into only thinking high level schools or Ivies were only place their kid to play. If players only started looking at Division 3’s toward end of Spring, they lost out. Schools want you to want them. 2022’s should have looked in the Fall or earlier to high level/high academic Division 3’s .D3 is the way to go for sure.
Says who? Capital 22 Blue players and presumably Pride 22 Black players should certainly have the d1 option. Capital doesn't seem to be forthcoming with their 22 commits for whatever reason. The '23s should have an idea already if d1's are looking at them.

Since the 2017-2020 class Capital has committed the following:
Harvard 4
Brown 1
Cornell 3
Princeton 3
Penn 2
Dartmouth 2
Columbia 1
Yale 4
Duke 1
UVA 7
Loyola 1
Navy 2
UNC 1
Notre Dame 2
Georgetown 4
Syracuse 1
Johns Hopkins 1
Stanford 2

Those are some pretty good schools who play pretty good lacrosse, isnt this the goal of all of it? Get into a great academic institution and play some quality ball? I think Capital has done their players a great service when it comes to this. I didnt include any of the DIII schools which are also academically solid as well.

Yes great list. I think if a parent has issue with the recruiting maybe you should setup meeting with your coaches and director. Not put it on DC urbanmom. Have some class about you….

Sure. Amazing list. But that is old news. The lacrosse college landscape has changed a lot. How about a list of the ‘22s? That’s the question. Not those already graduated. Be honest - ‘22 recruits doesn’t even come close. And don’t use Covid as an excuse. Lots of top clubs have lists as good as the old list above just for their ‘22s.

Very true.

Recruiting always comes down to 3 things: GRADES, SKILLS, and ACCESS.
You need to have at least 2 of the 3 to get recruited. With the huge influx of cash grab clubs theses days all 3 parameters have been greatly diluted. One thing is for sure if your daughter has the skills and the grades the colleges will find her through camps and tournaments. It is very hard to be recruited. Colleges generally go with known commodities from schools and clubs. There are the exceptions, Charlotte North, Izzy Scane and others, but they are the exception. There are a lot of marginal lacrosse players playing for good clubs that can't hang in the college game. Coaches recognize speed, Lax IQ, and fundamentals when they see your daughter play. They can assess in about 10 minutes if your daughter can play at the next level or not. Why? Because they have been doing this as a job for many years. They rarely look for "a project" or "potential". So if you are looking to get to the next level make sure you emphasize GRADES and Lax IQ. You can always pay to play for a club with "Access". These are the cold facts. You need to realize even when they get to college only about 25% of the girls on the team even play in games. I have seen dozens of High School All Americans from the "right" clubs and schools never set foot on the field. College game is not high school or club. Much faster, much more physical and nobody cares bout your feelings or where you came from.

Capital never publishes a list of "commits" until after the girls sign their NLI's - they don't even have all of their 2021 commits listed on the website yet even though they have signed, and this class was arguably the best and deepest class they've had in quite some time. The previous poster who mentioned the 3 main things you need is spot on. Capital, more than any other club in this area, has the cache with the colleges, and they will get you into the right tournaments and top brackets. That is where the benefits stop, IMO. The "Recruiting Director" is more like a traffic cop, and the coaching, like with all clubs is hit or miss. But, they have a track record of putting girls in top schools and that is worth something. But get good grades, be proactive about emailing and attending on campus clinics and camps where you have serious interest, and above all else be realistic. This last piece is the hardest, and most club coaches and directors aren't completely upfront with kids when they are younger because they don't want to lose the revenue stream. But you need to have the right academic and lacrosse expectations that fit your kids capabilities, or this process will be extremely disappointing and frustrating.

So Capital is worth leaving Pride for from a recruiting perspective? That’s what you hear.

LOL just because you are with XYZ club doesn’t mean you will get recruited. You want honest people helping you along the way. People who won’t crush you behind your back and people who have the best interest for your player.

Yes, of course it is. ‘Keep these girls playing together’ means absolutely ZILCH to getting your own daughter recruited. Some club owners will say/do anything to get kids to stay, including cowtowing to parents who have mediocre players but can potentially bring them $$ or revenue stream from a rec org or multiple kids coming through the pipeline. Iykyk.

Capital 22 just wasn't all that talented. There are absolutely some payers that are head and shoulders elite compared to the 22 class in the DMV and I might even argue that a couple are under committed based on watching them play and seeing their accolades over the years.

Top to bottom though the team just not nearly as strong as CLC teams of years. Perhaps because of a dilution of talent due to Pride and others? No idea but I think CLC did "ok" with what they had to work with.

That may be your opinion but not everyone’s. There are some talented players on that team and some still uncommitted - including a goalie. The best M&D ‘22 goalie is not committed as well.

I thought neither goalie had committed yet? Any commits on the ‘22 orange team?

What are predictions for CLC and Pride 23’s? Surely some of them will have an idea already if they are getting whispers from any of the big programs?

Yes. CLC 22 Orange has some strong commits.

The goalie on CLC 22 Blue is not strong. They have never had a strong goalie.
