Has Pride 2022 Black had anyone commit?

Anonymous
Haven’t seen a list of them anywhere. A lot of girls took chances when Pride started a HS program. Just wondering if any from Nova have committed. I would assume so as they aren’t a bad team. Or has all the focus been on Pride Baltimore where their recruiting director is?

I don't think their recruiting director is in Baltimore anymore? That director changed. I think the focus for Pride is the NOVA group, they will probably have commits but the club have an established relationship with schools so they may not be considered first. With Capital, coaches know what they are getting.

Come on, coaches are't looking for Capital players because if they were, all those girls would be recruited. Stop trying to pretend they're lining up on the sidelines at Capital games. They're looking for talented players to fill specific positions and they're just as happy to recruit players from any club, especially the one's that show up at their camps and clinics.

Apparently, not Pride though...

Or Capital either ...

Except that 2022 Capital seems to have a lot more commits than 2022 Pride?

Kind of hard to recruit the girls who show up at college coaches’ camps or clinics since there have not been any since early February.

That’s true but that hasn’t stopped the capital 22 from being recruited.

There are only about 4 competitive schools on the Capital '22 recruit list. A good soccer player that can demonstrate coordination with a field hockey stick would get recruited by Delaware and all the CapLax media reps that are comparing results to the first year of Pride HS lacrosse and claiming victory are essentially playing the violin while watching Rome burn to the ground.

I guess Hero's Green, Skywalkers Blue and MD United all have field hockey teams now, as they all have Delaware commits in this class too. Stupid Internet Idiot . Learn something about lacrosse and which college coaches are building things and maybe your daughter will play NAIA Division II. I guess all of the other clubs that have Delaware commits (YJS, Soundcrosse, Cora Kai) are all better than Pride, cause at least they got girls committed to D1. So there is no comparison.

Well then by your standards, why aren't some of the Pride 22 committed to Delaware?

Not a Pride parent and do believe athletes should go where they want, not anyone else's business. However, getting 4 girls into competitive schools doesn't show that you have a dominant club program in Virginia and nobody is gonna flock to your tryout because you got a kid into Delaware, no way to spin that as a positive. It is also concerning that Capital feels the need to compare itself to a program that just started. Hasn't Capital been around for 20 years? How does having a better recruiting record than the first year of Pride recruits show any kind of quality for the Capital program?

Agree 100%. Why is Capital bashing Pride so much?

Teams are not doing well and Capital 2024 Blue lost to Pride last weekend. Someone hit the panic button.

One year will not define either program. But clubs should watch the trends. Based on board comments it does appear the Capital 2022s are behind in recruiting from previous classes. Sounds like expectations for the Pride 2022s were unknown given they are the first HS class. Time will tell for both. Both classes are important to each club in different ways. They could be the start of trends going in opposite directions. Capital's reputation has been built on being the program that places players on college teams. CLC cannot afford to have this shine wear off with multiple classes falling short of expectations. Pride may get a pass with its first class, but will not with each successive class. Lets hope both clubs are successful with recruiting. Having options is good.
