| Not only can I not stand Elrich. I doubt most in the state could even afford him. Wait until he makes everyone's property taxes = Baltimore's. This state will turn into CA, where everyone wants to get the hell out. |
Marc is clueless, and would be terrible. This Democrat certainly would vote to a moderate Republican candidates instead. |
| Ugh no. Why would he even want the job? I genuinely like him as a person but he is not cut out for County Executive, much less Governor. |
|
Marc Elrich is the worst County Executive.....
...Except for all the other candidates for County Executive. |
No, Ike Leggett was better. |

"Marc Elrich is the worst County Executive.....
...Except for all the other candidates for County Executive. No, Ike Leggett was better." Too bad Ike is 76, I could vote for him for governor. |
He was actually my least favorite out of everyone in the primary last time. I don’t think he’ll win one by a few dozen votes again. |
I don’t like Elrich, but the rumors of population decline in California are greatly exaggerated. https://www.macrotrends.net/states/california/population |

Unlike the vast majority of DCUM, I like Marc a lot. I voted for him in the primary and the general last time and in all of his runs for County Council. He is rough around the edges but a good, decent man and his heart has always been in the right place.
That said, his time has come and gone. It's time for him to pass the torch. He's been around for so long and he's lost his edge, and it's apparent that he can't manage at the executive level and has been much more successful as a rabblerouser than a manager. Based on what I hear from those around him, he's ancient, he's exhausted, he's fed up, he hates the job and the current council, and I hope he retires instead of running again for Executive, let alone governor. I don't have the heart to vote against him but couldn't vote for him either. I'd probably just sit it out. I hope he chooses to retire and endorses a progressive younger candidate to carry the torch. Elrich is the Bernie Sanders of Montgomery County politics - I am with him ideologically, but he doesn't get things done, he doesn't make enough allies, and he needs to retire. |
| I am a Democrat who will vote for Boyd Rutherford instead. |
|
Ahahahah!!
Wait, are you serious? |
Is anything he is doing keeping people safe? It's the state's COVID response. He just plays politics with COVID for his career. |

I am happy that I voted for Marc Elrich. I live in Upper MoCo and I am happy with his stance regarding urban sprawl. Don't think that he will be a good Governor but he will get my vote next time too for the county.
I voted for Hogan because Ben Jealous was a terrible candidate. Hogan is not great but he was a shade better than Jealous. Also, previously, as an independent, I did not want Dems ruling county and state as well. But, after Trump and his shenanigans...I am not voting for GOP at all for maybe the next 20 years or so. |

Did Elrich have a press conference today and if so, anyone have a summary? I forgot to watch.
|
| I would vote for a ham sandwich over Elrich. |
