lol if that's the case then this strike will have no effect other than exposing the wtu to legal trouble. |
I also thought that number was very low. And was there any requirement to show they were actual DCPS parents signing? How many signatures were WTU members, or teachers/staff from other districts or their family members? The petition is meaningless. |
| As an MCPS parent, I support the sick-out, but only because this will help to further decrease public support for teachers and their unions. |
Hint: the teachers don’t give a crap. |
Who TF cares? Why are you even here?? |
Their school will tell parents no class tomorrow if their teacher won't be there. I will be there, not because I don't support the WTU but because I didn't support the day we choose. |
Again, to lend my support. Please do your sick-out. Maybe extend it to a week. |
I’ll send a quick note. I’m pretty short on time though. I’m expected to bill 8 hrs a day to my regular job, be a teachers’ aide during the school day, well except tomorrow. On the evenings and weekends I’m a reading and math tutor. I hate this. Can’t we work together to find a solution? Compromise at all? I’m cool with not getting everything I want but it feels like parents are getting nothing and teachers are getting everything. |
This doesn’t affect you at all. STFU and leave the discussion to those with skin in the game |
Ya, I signed it with the name “Stupid Petition”. I wouldn’t brag about your 1000 signatures.... |
Teacher here, I am for hybrid. I am for a safe reopening and all schools must have the HVAC units actually installed. And the classroom ones for schools that need it. If there is an outbreak back to DL. I am worried about this, my school had a major gas leak. Like to the point my students were gasping. DCPS refused to close the school to fix it. REFUSED. We had multiple emergency parent pick ups and had to evacuate the building. I don't trust DCPS. But I do want to teach my kids, safely. |
It does affect me. Teachers unions are almost never popular with the public at-large, and in this case the local news coverage will almost certainly pull support away from teachers groups across the region. STRIKE! STRIKE! STRIKE! |
| We have our resident troll! Your parents must be proud... |
Again, how does this affect you? |
Basically. It's callously irresponsible. |
