FEINSTEIN: Hun, it’s time for you to retire!

Anonymous
As a native San Franciscan, I have a lot of admiration for Feinstein and have worked for/with her and her staff in a professional capacity. One of my earliest memories is when our city's mayor was killed and Feinstein took charge of the city, keeping us calm in such a hectic time.

But the reality is, her view on politics is out of step with the Senate (and the political world in general). Anyone who knows DF will tell you that she does not view herself as a politician, she views herself as a legislator. She began her career in San Francisco, a city where there aren't really party politics and most of the disagreements are on minor policy differences.

This is why she cares a lot about procedure, decorum, and is against things like abolishing the filibuster/expanding the court. However, when republicans refused to give Obama's nominee a vote, pride themselves in not bringing any of the house's legislation to a vote, and have overall ripped any "norms" to shreds, this mindset needs to stop.

So when she praises Graham, she is seriously happy about how the hearing went when it comes to procedure. In her perspective, ACB presented herself well so Feinstein is satisfied.

She complimented him on how he ran the hearing or some such. I mean, she just erased everything the dems worked on these past 3 days. Also, we desperately need him to lose re-election. She shouldn’t be complimenting him!

Plus...WTF?? COVID!!

Dianne's been showing signs of dementia. It's the worst-kept secret on the Hill. It's very sad.

Agree. Something is going on and it's a mess. Frankly, anyone over 70 should seriously be thinking of moving on. And that includes Biden, Sanders, and Warren. And definitely includes Feinstein and Grassley who were born in gol darn NINETEEN THIRTY THREE. If they have their memory they are old enough to remember the attack on Pearl Harbor when they were children. It's insane.

Under no circumstances should Biden run for a second term.

Pelosi needs to go as well even though she has been masterful these last couple of months. Katie Porter can do the job just as well, if not better.

Katie is sharp, but no way is this true.

That’s a wonderful and kind perspective, and I don’t doubt that you’re right, but this is not where we are a nation right now, and certainly not in this moment politically when the GOP continually beats the Democrats just by sheer force.

Yeah, I was the first poster. I agree 100% She has done a lot of good for the people of San Francisco, California, and our nation in general. But it is clear that she does not have the fight that the party (and country) needs for the next four years. She should step down and work with Newsom to pick her successor.

You know she will resist any attempt to adjust or reform the Supreme Court. Wonder how many more democrats will join her. It seems the Democrats’ leadership is out of touch.

Great career; true patriot; time to retire, now, before the holidays.

we need a new generation of Democrats. Ones that are beholden to big tech and increasing immigration.

We need new Dem leaders that will focus on US workers first.

time for Pelosi and shimmer and Feinstein to go. They allowed republicans to become the party of the US workers. Can you believe that? nafta, overwhelming immigration, no wage growth, appeasing china, appeasing Apple/Facebook/Google.

They are friends. What's the big deal? RBG was close friends with Justice Scalia. It is possible for people to disagree on politics yet still get along. No need to cancel anyone.

1. She's generally incompetent.

2. It's not just politics. It's basic decency. Graham is a liar and hypocrite who, along with his GOP colleagues, are putting an activist on the Court.

If she is not up to the job, she can get voted out next time. Does anyone even try to challenge her in the primaries? Graham is just fulfilling his duties as committee chair. It would be irresponsible for the Senate not to give the president's nominee a fair hearing.

' I always get the feeling that congress is political theatre and that they actually get along and are friendly to each other behind the scenes. "

More a crime scene than a political theater. They enter poor and exit rich. Washington is an amalgamation of disorganized crime families.
