Anyone who knows DF will tell you that she does not view herself as a politician, she views herself as a legislator. She began her career in San Francisco, a city where there aren't really party politics and most of the disagreements are on minor policy differences.

This is why she cares a lot about procedure, decorum, and is against things like abolishing the filibuster/expanding the court. However, when republicans refused to give Obama's nominee a vote, pride themselves in not bringing any of the house's legislation to a vote, and have overall ripped any "norms" to shreds, this mindset needs to stop.

So when she praises Graham, she is seriously happy about how the hearing went when it comes to procedure. In her perspective, ACB presented herself well so Feinstein is satisfied. [/quote]
