Men being ruder to you when they have a crush on you

Anonymous
I thought "negging" was a flirting strategy. Like saying, "you could be a model except for your butt". It is a way to throw them off. Make them easier to approach for more flirting and positive comments later.

I think some here are confusing negging with resentment.

I will admit that when a beautiful women speaks to me I get a little speechless and off my guard. I watch my words very carefully and am probably not as friendly. But I don't put them down or make fun of their looks.

OP here and this is more what I'm talking about.

Why do you think you are not as friendly to attractive or beautiful women?

Yep. I once got in a fender bender that was completely mine fault. We exchanged information (for claims purposes) and he called me later to make sure I was alright still and that my husband wasn’t upset with me. I thought that was a bit odd but he never called again or made a claim. He was just being overly nice.

Of course that happens frequently to everyone, especially if you live in a nice area. But OP was talking about the opposite phenomenon which happens also

Could it be that the men are trying to overcompensate being confident and masculine and that comes off as rude?

There was a guy at college with me I'd have loved to talk to more but whenever I tried, he went pink and stuttered really badly. And I tried more than a few times and then gave up.

I wonder if there's some resentment at play with some (dysfunctional) men wherein they get angry at a woman they perceive would have rejected them, and thus decide to act uncivilly towards her.

Anyone have any experiences with this?

Have you watched men discuss AOC?!?!

The only metric by which AOC is attractive is as compared to all the old people in congress.

Guy here: AOC is pretty hot compared to the average 30 year old woman just about any place.

AOC is pretty, but she's not an anomaly among 30 somethings.

Are you saying you use negging to flirt? Because that is indeed putting them down.

Also, would negging work on you?

It doesn't "come off as rude" as though it's a byproduct of good intentions. They're purposely protecting their weak egos. Like the previous poster, as long as he throws in the dig about her butt, he doesn't need to feel rejected if she rebuffs him. "I didn't really like her anyway, why would I? She has a flat butt, after all. "

I dont think they are trying to flirt. It's more like they've accepted that it's never going to happen/they will never get to sleep with this woman but that makes them angry so they act out

As a guy, I’m not rude to any woman, weather I’m attracted to them or not
