Gloves, masks, vision visors/ face shields, hit a few houses at dusk. Come home, take it all off, bath, pj’s, wash candy in hot soapy water. Serve.

We figure trick or treating likely won’t happen in our neighborhood, but the kids will dress up, we will decorate, and we will do Halloween baking and carve pumpkins.

I read a post on here earlier this year in which a poster washed fruit in hot soapy water and her entire family got violent diarrhea.

We will drive to my mother’s and do a Halloween Egg hunt in her yard. Each egg will have candy. Kid will wear a costume while hunting for eggs. My parents’ home is far back from the street, so he won’t be able to see other kids trick or treating. DC is 4.

Oooops. Just saw that this was on the elementary forum. Still might work for older kids.

We'll do something smaller. Our neighborhood will hold an outside party and have lots of candy at that.

But we won't go door to door, except maybe to people we know.

You do realize people you know can get Covid too, right?

Don't even joke about that. I can't deal with that nonsense this year.

Same. My fuse is getting shorter by the minute!

Just talked to a bunch of families on our street and we all confirmed that, at least for our homes, Halloween is ON! Even if a bunch of neighbors don’t participate it will still be fun.

Montgomery County, Maryland, children are in for a real scare this Halloween, as county health officials aren’t allowing trick-or-treating.

Actually there are many ways to keep it safe.

Outside, social distancing, is very easy. Handing out candy in driveways in pre-filled bags or using grab banners or chutes to hand out one piece. Kids can hold off on eating candy for a few days if you are really conservative.

Card table in the driveway, with candy spread out.

fire pit in the side yard, 20-25 feet .

Hot apple cider & fireball in coffee mugs, and hopefully LOTS and LOTS of kids in costumes.

This is just about the safest, family-friendly, fun thing we can do here.

Don't let those clowns try to take it from us. They can't. But they are trying to use incorrect headlines to influence behavior.

That’s crazy town. Just wait 3 days. Good lord.
