You must be from Maryland! |
They pulled out of Labor Day tournaments in other age groups. I wonder if this is why. |
Too scared to lose their spot on the team or starting position. I’ve seen all kinds of crazy behavior over the years, particularly on highest teams. |
Personally I would have liked the club to notify other teams that might have shared a practice field at the same time or been in contact with that team entering or exiting the practice fields. |
This is NOT ture. There are now many studies from countries where they have done a lot opf contact trrt tracing that show that presymptomatic and asymptomatic transmission is actually very, very rare. |
Your kid isn’t going to catch coronavirus from a kid practicing 50 yards away. |
Good? Do you realize the implications of this for all the families involved? Of course not because you’ve never been exposed. It’s a nightmare. You have to shut your already puny life down as well as decide siblings parents what interaction they can have both to the exposed kid and to others outside the home. It’s not good! |
The circumstances aren’t known, but there are a lot of ways this can happen without breaking protocols. For instance, the kid could have developed symptoms or learned they’d been exposed after the game or the next morning, and got the results through a rapid test. Or they may have had test results pending, but only got tested for purposes of travel or visiting a high-risk relative and not because of symptoms or known exposure. |
Yes - but that is the fault of the idiots making the rules. Not the club, the parents, or the kid. |
So do not follow the rules. Your kid is exposed or gets sick have him/her go to practice or the games. Remember to tell your kid to pick up the ball, run to the other teams goal and throw the ball in! Stupid rules. |
From obviously not a soccer parent, who is blissfully unaware of how kids enter and exit the fields through one entrance point, or share a common restroom, or goof off together prior to the games. And it's not about catching--it's about giving parents the information to make their own decision and police their kids. "Did you have any interaction with those guys on XX day?" Yes/no--ok, move on. But some still think that we should just sit back and wait until our government calls us before we do anything to mitigate risk. Head in the sand types who want to keep us in lockdown for months rather than let people have the information to do their part to help keep people safe. |

Well WTF?? isn’t the Club checking them?!?!!!
Our Club has been checking every player’s temp before every single practice, game and scrimmage...since May!! They have to line up with masks distanced before taking the field and also have hands squirted with hand sanitizer. Parents had to drop off and kids lined up apart in marked areas to go thru check before being led out to field. They were led off field same manner. It’s not rocket science and doesn’t take a lot of equipment. I’d expect more from them... |
I will certainly request the Arlington players be checked prior to taking the field against them... |
Psst! Asymptotic carriers. Delayed symptoms. |
| People need to relax! There is corona all over the fields and no one is being honest about it. So either live with or take your kid off! |
