Married 6 years but with husband for about 12 years, most of those years living together. About 115 when we met (I’m 5’3). Now under 110. We have two kids, 22 months and 3.5.

I am thinner but I don’t look better. I ran and lifted weights and did TRX religiously before kids. Now I have no butt, no shape.

Around 5'3". Weigh 125 now and about the same then, 18 years and two kids ago. Much of the interim I weighed between 138 and 144, but have lost weight in the past few years.

This is fascinating.

Im assuming the majority of responses are from white women. Weight is a defining standard of beauty the way complexion? Hair texture? Is for people of color.

I know where our issues stem from. Where does your weight obsession originate?

I have been married 20 years and have no idea how much I weighed on my wedding day. Maybe 140? I'm 170 now.

I think weight is one more classist marker that women love to use against each other. I doubt most men could recognize the difference between 140 and 170, and probably wouldn't care if they did.

Maintaining a weight from your youth is an accomplishment, I think. At some point, most people give up on themselves and may be beaten down by life. It's easier to eat the chips and chug the wine than it is to exercise and go to bed early. My $0.02.

Translation: "I just love to use my weight as a club against other women, those fat, lazy malingerers."

I don't believe all the 5'8, 120 lb women on here. Those are models standards.

I was speaking for myself, mainly. I have been beat down by life and I struggle with anxiety and I am broke. The best things I have going for me are a loving marriage and family, three good friends and my beauty, which I inherited from my mother and which includes having a healthy weight, imo. It wasn't a jab at you or anyone else. You are probably rich and/or have a fulfilling career. I am laid off of a job I hate.

5'2" 115

3 kids and a shutdown later I'm about 130. I'd like to get back to 120. The weight shows on my face and stomach.
