NP. I am not sure what you said either, OP. It just seemed to me like you were looking for ideas on fun things to do this summer.

I'm sorry your husband lost his job, PP. But I agree that he needs to step up and do more childcare. He will probably feel better and more useful if he does.

Nothing, we are DCUM-poor and we both work full time - no flexibility, both must work the same core hours. We can't really afford a vacation right now and I'm not comfortable going anywhere anyway.

For those of you who take off on day trips on the weekends - when do you clean your house and catch up on chores like yard, laundry, meal prep for the week...

DP - on the weekends we do play with the kids but also have to do chores and clean. Scared to take any vacation time since husband's job announced lay offs and we don't know if his job is safe - if he gets laid off, we need every penny of that vacation payout.

I am more on the middle ground of DCUM. But I pay my kids to do it. They are cheap .

Every night I throw in laundry, clean the kitchen, run the dishwasher, and wipe down the powder room. Every morning before work I empty the dishwasher and put away the laundryman make the bed.

Yeah, sorry, OP, you do sound a little insensitive. People have lost jobs, and may have lost loved ones to the pandemic.

I know we're in the DCUM bubble where nothing bad ever happens except MIL monsters, but still...

This is a post crowdsourcing how to do normal things. OP doesn’t strike me as tone deaf, only as trying to make the best of a scary situation.

Than she is a poor writer because it came off insulting. And the fact that other posters agree with me that she is "tone" deaf should give yo both pause and not argue with us that we are wrong.
