I’m all for my daughter playing college soccer if she wants (she is 14) but I also know it’s a ton of pressure and it’s highly unlikely she’ll ever play after college beyond pick up and at a child/parent game 15 years from now where she’ll suffer an injury (🤣).

Just genuinely curious the benefits of a high pressure situation. Obviously also get the financial benefits of a scholarship but let’s face it we can all afford to send our kids to good schools if we live in this area.

All the kids I’ve met who are good enough to be recruited for DI love the game and want to keep playing in college. And it may just be where we live, but no one I know is choosing an academically average school. Everyone around here recognizes that being recruited for soccer is a ticket to get into an academically elite college. The main parent/child disagreements I’ve witnessed are between parents who want their kid to play for a NESCAC type school and have a more balanced sports/academic experience while the kid prefers a school with a strong D1 program.

no one will list the schools because they are all realizing their kids aren't being recruited by the top soccer schools they thought they would be.

If they are hearing from them now, they have to realize the coaches are probably talking to a lot of others and by the time signing day comes along that offer or interest probably won't be there.

pick 2 of the 3 academics, sports, or social life, all 3 don't exist in high profile programs. that was what the penn state wrestling coach told us. he was so right.
