And it may just be where we live, but no one I know is choosing an academically average school. Everyone around here recognizes that being recruited for soccer is a ticket to get into an academically elite college. The main parent/child disagreements I’ve witnessed are between parents who want their kid to play for a NESCAC type school and have a more balanced sports/academic experience while the kid prefers a school with a strong D1 program.
