+1 I've read a lot of epidemiologists who are not satisfied with the WHO's findings, in part for that reason. If pre-symptomatic people are contagious, then we're still at square one. |
And WHO already walked back on this statement yesterday essentially saying that’s not what they meant and that 40% of transmissions indeed may be asymptomatic spread... |
This is not surprising. Presymptomatic spread is also common with the flu and many other viral diseases. It's nothing unique to Covid. |
And most kids are asymptomatic. If asymptomatic spread turns out to be rare, this news should absolutely affect our policies regarding schools. |
|
It's not rare. That was taken out of context and roundly rejected by experts. |
Yes |
That is not true. What has been rejected by experts is the assertion that asymptomatic spread is rare, when in fact, we don't know yet whether it is rare or not. I did not assert that it is rare, but said "if it turns out to be rare." All the evidence we have so far point to KIDS not being significant spreaders of the virus. |

Mark my words. Fall 2021. You most likely will be doing distance learning this fall.

Yep, here's the article. https://www.cnbc.com/2020/06/09/who-scrambles-to-clarify-comments-on-asymptomatic-coronavirus-spread-much-is-still-unknown.html?fbclid=IwAR00TYEj4ynELBcpkV2-qXoucAki_3BsMI2PblwldROL07RQVRRQbXHzjZQ |
We will be doing some sort of DL/hybrid. Plan for that, make peace with that, and vent all you'd like.
We'll try our best to teach through a hybrid model and communicate with you to make it work. I think school will be normal Fall 2021. |
End of the year March-June, definitely by Fall 2021 |
