I still think one or two big clubs will disappear. I have already heard rumors about midsize clubs in merger talks.

Just my opinion, no rumors.

Economically, some areas will be hit harder than others. But the biggest factor will be which parents want to put their kids back out there. I don’t think it’s small versus big having trouble. They all will, and they will shrink. VYS and PWSI are highly unlikely to disappear. They are actually pretty large clubs when you look at rec and number of younger teams. It’s clubs fielding one team per year that you worry about.

ABGC , VYS, south county, team America , dorados , are all Northern Virginia clubs that could disappear thanks to this pandemic.

Well, my U14 son just received an offer today from BSC. He’s a returning player. The club has given us a week to decide. And you’re saying that the club may not exist in a week? What? How likely is it that the rumor is true?

Well, my U14 son just received an offer today from BSC. He’s a returning player. The club has given us a week to decide. And you’re saying that the club may not exist in a week? What? How likely is it that the rumor is true?

I have no idea whose folding or not but what i do know is businesses will continue business as usual and keep collecting money until the last second when they put the lock on the door. They're not going to announce "dont sign up we're so close to collapsing".

Doubtful anyone goes under but they will lay off staff if they can't collect fees for fall. The trouble will be once things are back to normal and they're looking to hire coaches back. They're gonna have to try to hit the ground running while basically having been dormant. Fine for rec programs, not so much for travel.

Dorados, Team America, and Gunston should merge with LMVSC. Not sure if the egos (or bylaws) would allow a merger, but it makes a lot of sense for these clubs and the areas they serve.

Not a whole lot of people lining up to work with Lula Bauer. Never going to happen as long as she's around. Tbh, you could throw south county and syc in that mix, but that would only make this harder.

Are they asking you to pay / put down a deposit yet? That’s going to be the sticking point for many.

Are they asking you to pay / put down a deposit yet? That’s going to be the sticking point for many.

It’s a reduced deposit this year. Frankly it’s much lower deposit than all our other travel sports - non soccer

I do not know about that. Some of the clubs Really do not have a lot of cash laying around.
