The real question is what did Metro coaches do to this small person who keeps writing garbage about them. The “rent free” guy is exactly right in describing this person. Pretty sick stuff going on in this person’s head. |
| Can anyone post any useful info.?! |
Contact George Hales for info about trying out. Coaches are all staying. They are announcing who is coaching each age group later this week. |
| Thanks-any word on the players? Are they looking to go to ECNL clubs or are they staying for GAL? |
I don’t think it’s a GAL vs ECNL question. Players happy with their current team will stay. Players who are unhappy may leave. Some of the best teams in the area will be in GAL and others ECNL, depending on age group. There’s no reason to turn this thread into another debate on which is better. |
| Have they had any luck attracting at age players for the younger team (06 esp)? |
Correct. Pretty much ends up being status quo for DA, except they can now play HS and have less restrictive rules. All-in-all a win for the DA teams and no change for ECNL really. So win-win. Now the only relevant question is when will playing start up again? It will go hand in hand with school decisions, which are driven by states ... so might be messy now that each state determines their own fate. Stay tuned ... |
I will say that it sounds like different clubs (between ASA, FCV and MU) are interpreting the HS play thing a bit differently. We have a DD at one club and friends with players at the other two. At MU the message was "if you really want to play HS, we will consider letting you on a case by case basis" but it sounded like, as with ECNL in the past pre-DA, it really won't go well for players who want to do HS. That's okay -- it's a choice people have to make -- but be sure you are asking the right questions of your club and going in with your eyes open, not just assuming because it is permitted that it is encouraged. |
That has been our experience with several clubs. Some are "ok" with playing HS, but others are not as supportive. Based on what we have seen/heard if you are a superstar on the team they let you do what you want because they don't want to lose the player. If you are a back of the pack player it's ok to play (because we told the star of the team it's ok), but you may be at risk of losing your spot if on the top team. The other issue we experienced was the ability of the high school team. If they are a great team with a great coach the club coaches are more open because they are getting good training. If the teams sucks then the club becomes more hesitant. Kind of a "you want to go play on that crap team instead of training/playing with us"?. Then you are at risk of losing a spot again. |

What do current MU parents think of the coaching slate next year? Will they be able to attract players at 06 who are at age and below?

| 06 team? I doubt MU will have a 07 or 08 will they forfeit all games if they can't field a team? |
metro will have full 06, 07 and 08 teams in 2020/2021 |
| ^^^Any word on roster sizes at those levels? |
Just because you threw coins down a well and made a wish doesn't mean it will come true |
