Anyone else hate running? Why? What do you do instead?

Why would anyone take that the wrong way? It makes perfect sense. Most people are looking to exercise to lose weight, which is why running is a terrible choice

I hate running. I find it really boring and stressful. I think running itself really makes my body think I'm in the "flight" part of fight or flight.

But I LOVE to exercise. I think a good replacement if you have access to a treadmill is incline walking. Really, anything that gets your heart rate up is good. I've done exercises where my heart rate is up just as high as running but for some reason it feels doable and pleasant to me, but running is just like I want to die.

I hear ya OP. I struggle mightily to run more than a 5K (3.1 miles), which tends to be 20 to 26 minutes. Running any longer is just painfully BORING. But I know I need to burn some calories and I enjoy the fresh air and sun - so I do 5K x6 times a week.

My husband has a fancy bicycle and he's able to do hours on that thing burning 1,000+ calories.

I feel awkward whenever I try to run, so now I just fast walk instead.

My favorite are those in-betweeners that kind of migrate bw the two as they go down the street. Crack me up every time.

I walk

You have to lift weights and strengthen your legs or else running will destroy your knees. This is why many runners wear their knees out. It is all they do.

With the exception if you are overweight. Overweight people should not run. Unless running after the ice cream truck. Extra weight on your back and knees will also wreck your body.

Is over 200 lbs overweight if you’re 6’4

People take any suggestion that a higher weight is suboptimal for certain activities as an attack. But there is a reason elite runners carefully monitor their weight and it isn't vanity.

I’m coming to that realization if I want to keep running long-term I’m going to have to lose weight. I’m in early 40s and have been regularly running 10 years, but I’ll be honest, it comes with some aches and pains. I recently got down to my goal weight and I can feel the difference. But I’m coming to terms that I may need to lose even more, ugh.

I hate running and just found an even more effective alternative. Jumping Rope! I invested in Crossropes jumping ropes which are weighted ropes and it makes a huge difference. They are not cheap but totally worth it. I bought the Lean bundle. Also jumping burns more calories than running

I hate running. My D-cup boobs are the main problem, but I also find it boring and a chore. I have a Peleton and do gym classes that involve cardio, dance classes like Zumba or Hip Hop.

NP - same. I am a long time runner and it definitely feels harder when I gain even a few lbs. I've recently lost a little bit of weight during this quarantine and notice my running has improved so much. I don't need to stop as often and don't get as out of breath.

You just need the right bra. I love my enell. It's big and ugly, but keep my boobs stable. I also like the shefit bra.

Not saying you should run. I am all for doing the activities that you enjoy, but if you want to run there are bras to support you.

I have been a runner for years. I don't always love it or want to head out the door, but I always feel so much better when i do. I have been running a lot more during this lock down and been more glad than ever that I can run.
