Best cupcakes

I'm still boycotting Leslie because of that post...

The only reason I opened this thread was to see how long it would take for the Leslie's Cakes breastfeeding debacle to come up-page three, wow, folks are feeling somewhat restrained around here (or reveling in cupcake dreams). I figured it would be the fourth or fifth post on the first page. Also, ruined wedding cake bride-do tell!

Flutterby Cupcakes are by far my fave - sooooooo moist!!! You can get them fresh at Carmen's Cafe in Rockville.

I agree. Flutterby Cupcakes are the best. Especially their Chocolate cupcake with peanut butter frosting. It tastes just like a cake version of a Reeses peanut butter cup.

Yeah - but have you tried Flutterby's red velvets? OMG!

I used to crave Baked & Wired cupcakes when I was pregnant too! When I found out I was having a girl my treat to myself was a Baked & Wired Red Velvet. Yum!

I bought a box of them and the boys thought they were terrible. Thought tasty cakes are better and should have just got something at Giant. One said as a business concept Georgetown Cupcake is good. Walk around and grab a snack. I don't buy cupcakes anymore because they like our homemade better and no one [teens] likes the mountain of icing. They find it annoying. We are now a baking family except for some items at Balducci's and real bakeries.

I've seen spreads put out where no one eats cupcakes but cookies are gone.

Fluffy Thoughts-awesome!!

Have heard Georgetown cupcakes are great, but haven't tried them yet.

Cakelove-good & better than what you get at the local supermarket, but waaaaaay toooo expensive.

Georgetown is going to have two new cupcake places soon: Sprinkles, and a NYC shop. I can't wait. Sadly, I could eat a cupcake a day and be very happy every day!

Cupcakes are sweet, decadent, fun, and yet not over-the-top fattening (like a box of Twinkies or McDonald's every day.) They are a treat, like an ice cream cone with sprinkles, or a Frappacino on a hot hot day.

Oddly enough, you can get an excellent cupcake in Montgomery Mall at at a little place called "Yocake" near the food court.

Georgetown Cupcakes! Delicious and beautiful, and each one feels like way more of a treat than those at Baked and Wired, which is sort of a creepy place below M Street - and who wants to wander down there for a cupcake anyway!

I'm dying to try out the Boston and NY places opening soon on M St.
