Burial vs Cremation how would you choose to go and why?

I know someone who did this with GW med school, but they ended the program and didn't bother to tell her before she died. Her family then had to find another place, which they ultimately did, but it wasn't easy.

I know another person who signed up with a quaker group and it worked out fine. They just came in a few hours after she died and took her away.

Does anyone really want to be embalmed and buried in the traditional way? I can't think of a single person with whom I have discussed this who has said they would prefer it.

If so, funeral homes may go the same way as churches.

Cremation for me.

I want my body to be converted into a diamond. My kids can wear it and pass it on. In such à way my descendents can have a collection of jewels and it will become a family heirloom.

The price is right though, but still, sticking to good old Mother Earth sounds like more cozy prospect then drift lonely in the outer space. It's cold out there.

That is sad

I am also seriously considering whole body donation

I already am an organ donor

I’m an organ donor. Cremate the rest.

But does anybody else want a place that family can visit? I’ve visited my parents’ graves and it’s been meaningful to me. But we have two family graveyards, both are in upstate New York, and I can’t see my kids heading up there much. Not that they should feel obliged, but if they wanted to.... Anyway, I haven’t tried to find anything more local but am thinking about it. Anybody else?

Yack to the chemicals. Never. Otherwise natural way to become one with everything like New York hot dog.
