Burial vs Cremation how would you choose to go and why?

Actually this isn’t a bad idea. Do you know if you’re a med school cadaver if they cover your disposal costs?

I'm a PP who posted about cremation. Science doesn't always want bodies. My mother wanted to donate her body to science and they said no thanks, they had too many already. However, I have a patient who made arrangements with a medical school who agreed to accept him after he dies. You should contact some medical schools in advance and try to arrange it/ get them to sign something.

I have heard that med students really make mess of your body not that it matters to some of you.

The problem with this is many institutes sell body parts. Google it.

So what? Do you really care if your parts are sold? I don’t.

This. FIL just died and of course didn’t plan ahead for anything and we’re hoping there’ll be something from his estate to cover what we’ve paid for and still have to pay. Cremation is almost $2k, the church has fees for everything, we have to fly, rent a car, etc. Casket, flowers, etc. total waste of money.

We paid $1K for cremation (MIL wanted it, I didn't), then we paid $1K for a burial plot. You got ripped off.

No thanks. I actually removed my donor status when I realized what is really happening in the ‘body broker’ money making industry.

Cremation. I think fire is purifying. God's going to give me a better body anyway. In the beginning......

I still don’t like the idea of my head rolling around somewhere in Ohio, my arms in a freezer in SC, and my balls in a jar in Bama somewhere. Maybe it’s just me.

Cremation makes the most logical sense to me in terms of expense and saving space (though I find the idea of keeping ashes in an urn in your house revolting). But I converted to Judaism and it's totally forbidden. So, burial it is. It is not an issue I have strong feelings about, so whatever. Not like I'll be around to know from it.

Cremation. I don’t want to take up any space when I am gone and don’t want to burden the kids with all that looking after the grave business.

Cremation, ashes released into a moving body of water.

I come from a Hindu family, so that’s what we do but if I weren’t Hindu I’d still prefer the same.

I want to have my skull prepared so my family can use it as a halloween decoration. I have researched this actually, and it seems like it might be possible if I can find a facility willing to cut my head off and send it to one of those skull prep places.

Burial is less final then cremation that fries your DNA, so you end right there.
However as maggots eat your brain, yo became teem..
And as the warm eat the dead maggot, you became
it, and as the bird eats the warm, you became it,
And as the fox catches the bird you became it,
And as the fox dies, the flowers grow on him and
You become them, and as deer eats them, you become them
And as the deer gets hit by the car and rots on a side
Of a highway, the flies dine on his body,
And so yo became them,
And when you are a fly...

You can sit on the wall and enjoy any place and situation you
Always wished for.. imagine free access
To any of the hearings in DC..

To be that fly you always wished to be...

Still want to be cremated and miss all that fun?
Ahh.. all the possibilities....

Who said that reincarnation is a myth?
