Nope. I just have a working brain and the ability to infer, based on the moderator’s own comments, that the vast majority of posters here are liberal women. Have a great night, liberal woman! |
I am not sure we can trust that the people who answered this poll were 100% being serious. I mean, some picked the US, mostly in Trump country, LOL. Wishful thinking, maybe. And some people picked the middle of the ocean, where there are no islands, even.

Epic fail. I'm a dude. Not much of a working brain there. Just knee-jerk GOP BS. |
You need to know whatever MSNBC tells you you need to know.

Never underestimate the power of the sheeple. |
| I bet most people on in this forum and elsewhere in America would have trouble finding Connecticut on a map. |
I doubt that 28% of Americans can name all 50 states! We are an ill-educated nation. |
And the USA bears no blame whatsoever? ALL of the problems in the Middle East are associated with Iran? |
They could find wealthy Darien but not poor Hartford |
Wait. Who *doesnt* use maps? Even if they are speaking the directions, or become more advanced. Maps Change all the time. Structures change. Roads are built. Boundaries are sometimes redrawn. You absolutely need to correctly identify a country. Far more important to know left from right and north from south, but still good to understand how many people don’t appreciate the nuances that are literally geographical for a lot of political issues. |
I’m much, much, much more concerned about all the voters in Trump Country if they were. They think Iran is IN THEIR STATE and want to BLOW IT UP. WTAF |
I was just recently at USMA and asked if a statue near the library in a corner was General Patton (the sign had been hidden by shrubbery and thought it was but sought verification). There are only 2 statues on that campus that I saw and one is General Eisenhower that presides over Eisenhower plaza in a very central location. The cadet had just finished practicing drills on Eisenhower plaza. He answered that he thought that statue in the corner was Eisenhower. We pointed out that the central statue was Eisenhower and he said he thought we were wrong. These two men do not look anything alike and knowing that the entire field is called Eisenhower plaza should tell you that the statue directly in the center would be of him. Then we were on a bus asking about the historic chapel (largest building on campus with a huge spire overhead and a cadet said he wasn't sure where it was. So no I don't think cadets know more about geography than your average DMV resident that has to navigate all of this traffic and deal with people from all over the world. Resident of the US - sure we have many barely literate people in red and blue states. It's unfortunate that republicans are scared of universities in the US because this is a huge problem I see happening to America. Forget about other countries. We have our own educational problems right here in the US. |
Ohhhh pathetic pathetic argument, and I am against Trump!!!!! “You don’t really need such geography skills” - ouch. Glad you are not running public education. Or are you?? It’s the fault of our schools that most Americans don’t know this (this is not college level info, btw). However — My middle schoolers is studying Middle East geography right now, and I was very pleased to see that. |
Biologically, maybe. But your brain self identifies as a liberal woman. |
