Then it should be a former APS student or someone who has some connection to APS. Not a hand-picked party person for a supposedly apolitical position. JFC, anyone watch “Chernobyl”? That’s what happens when it’s party over everything.

Also keep in mind that Cristina announced ON THE SAME DAY Tannia said she was not running *and* that she had a full website up and running on that day. Not a coincidence. A lot of people object to the notion that any board member gets to handpick their successor.

I was actually so annoyed at the whole John Legend tweeting for Parisa. I don’t want Soros or any Out of touch with reality Hollywood celebrity involved in my local politics. But this is what we got with Parisa and what Christina brings to the table.

I’m on that same side. Most of us are. I voted for Parisa. I still don’t like any of how this went down, with them lining up their anointed candidate before Tannia had even made her announcement.

Terron seems like a good guy but also one of those people where I'm like....what has he ever really done? Like, he shows up at things, and he's good at getting his picture taken, and getting appointed to stuff, but does anyone ever say he's accomplished anything? Like when Reed ran, people talked about how he had pushed hard to get the left turn lanes when they redid the Glebe/Columbia Pike intersection. And when Nancy ran, people talked about all the things she had done to help parents of students with disabilities. Terron shows up, but does he lead? I don't want another Tannia on the board, who is a perfectly nice person, but doesn't really help lead us through all of the tough decisions we have to make. People may find Reed and Nancy abrasive, but they put in the time, know the issues, have a point of view and will defend it--they aren't just there for the photo opps.

I'd agree with that.

A younger voice? Sure. Any younger voice, regardless of qualifications? Newp.

I can think of some younger people on AEM who I'd be happy to vote for. The problem is finding someone who can run who is interested in doing it and qualified to do it. And most people don't get interested until they have kids in school, and they don't have time when their kids are little.

Distant third- Priddy. Could hold my nose and vote for him if he has more support than the first two to win over Symone or Cristina.

There is a very strong correlation between the people on this list, and the people who are rabidly defending her. It's clear that she is seen as a political up and comer
