Yes, the state of Maryland owns salt trucks. So does Montgomery County.

Yes, the roads get pre-treated.

Probably people in the state north of us talk about the weather too. It's a general human characteristic.

Fairfax changed to closure at 6:30am because secondary roads are still expected to be icy when middle schoolers have to head out.

* Until 830 AM EST.

* At 756 AM EST, a dangerous snow squall was located near
Poolesville, moving east at 45 mph.

HAZARD...Poor visibility in heavy snow and blowing snow. Wind
gusts up to 30 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Dangerous life-threatening travel.

* This includes Interstate 270 between Middlebrook Road and
Urbana, and Highway 15 near Point of Rocks.

Locations impacted include...
Germantown, Rockville, Gaithersburg, Olney, Damascus, Poolesville,
Aspen Hill, Montgomery Village, Redland, Boyds, Rossmoor, Cloverly,

That’s a new one. I don’t remember snow squall warnings before, except maybe when I lived near Lake Erie and we had spalls off the lake.

There have been so many pileups lately. One in PA last weekend.

Some will still argue MCPS should have opened on time today. Imagine school buses in an accident because of a sudden event.

Neighborhood streets are covered with black ice in Bethesda.

Just drove to bus stop in Rockville..snowing but roads are fine. Magnet bus so not so close to our house.

This is how blizzards get started. They say oh it’s just a final sprinkle passing through and then boom! It’s a full on blizzard with everyone scrambling in bad traffic to pick up their kids.
