There is a ton of logic to it. Good choice, early decision. Helpful, everyone can plan accordingly.
Go Fairfax County! .. I mean .. maybe not so much go but stay home safe, warm and cozy!

No worries, it is all gonna be all right.

I was just out in Kentlands and the roads are salted and fine for driving, but the untreated parking lots already had some slippery footing for pedestrians in random spots. I would be shocked if we opened on time. Get childcare lined up for a full closure.

On time tomorrow. All the snow up here has melted. Roads are dry. Where tf do you all live

Plows! Listen/ look for the sand spreading plows or whatever the name. If they are on the road
near you, then that can mean county is preparing for school opening on time.

This is the only thing that can melt the ice right below the freezing.

Do you see them in your area? The activity has been also somewhat helpful
in prediction of the next day situation.

Already sad that the first honors orchestra rehearsal was canceled tonight.

If they can’t go, it will be rescheduled. There are sessions already cancelled this year that have been rescheduled. Say an extra prayer for safe return home tomorrow of the students and teachers already up at Outdoor Ed.

Probably a delay. PgCo has a delay, Howard Co is about to announce their delay. MoCo will announce shortly thereafter. MocoSnow is usually a good predictor as well. Enjoy the extra sleep guys!

No news at 9:28 most likely means on time.

They usually don't announce these types of delays until 5am. The county has all night to treat the roads and school parking lots. They'll send some folks out around 4 am to check the roads in the worst spots and then make the call. They've done much better at this the past few years. I remember 5 or 6 years ago they started all the bus runs and then at 6:30a called a delay because they were slipping.
