Not widely accepted at all. They get reported and pulled all the time in Bethesda and south silver spring.
Maybe in Bethesda, but not at our Germantown MS. There are plenty of families who live outside of MCPS, but use a false address. Impossible to prove that Larla doesn't actually 'live' with grandma and grandpa.
Also, it's a bit fuzzy on whether it's fraud. If the grandparents are paying property tax in MoCo, then the families feel they have a right to send the kid to school there.
