Setting aside the dated term, how young can a parent of multiple kids, who is apparently also a career woman so probably went to grad school and worked for a few years before starting to have kids, really be? And having been a yuppie back in the day there really weren't any particular child rearing philosophies attached to that. it had more to do with your job/career aspirations and where you lived.

The older parents of young kids that I know are super-late Boomer/very very early Gen X and surprisingly chill (or lax, if you prefer) with their child-rearing. I’m pretty early Gen X and was much more lax about sugar than my friends who are only five years younger. The parents I know who are strictest about sugar are Millennials with Gen Alpha babies and toddlers.
