What is funniest thing you ever saw on a college tour?

We went on tour at a SLAC in New England and just about every boy on the tour was wearing a button down vineyard vines shirt and pink shorts and even a few dads. My DD took one look at the "uniform" and said this is not for me.

Similar thing happened to us. We were at school in New England and several girls were walking around in Burberry jackets and D said I don't want to go to a school where you need a $600 jacket to fit in.

Our tour guide was a complete snob at Amherst too. We checked that off our list. It was also a really quiet and boring campus. Great sports fields and views, but the buildings were old with no character.

People, this is a thing. Students tease tour guides by doing this, and the guides are trained to go along with it.

At BU, the uniform was $1000 Canada Goose winter jackets.

I gave tours at my undergrad and I once had a mother who, in front of a very large tour group, asked me if virgins fit in at the school because her daughter was a virgin and would need to find others like her. I wanted to die of embarrassment for the poor girl who turned the brightest shade of red I’ve ever seen anyone blush. Couldn’t have waited until after the tour ended for that one mom?
