I know one, who is 9 and lives in another city.
OP, I love this name! It was on my list if I'd had another girl. I say go for it. In my experience so far, while we sometimes hear similar names, they are almost never repeated as ANY name was in the 50s or 70s or 90s. Everyone says "oh there's so many Sophias" but I have yet to meet one in my kid's school (120 preschoolers). So even the popular names aren't THAT popular. |
Who cares - if you like it then go for it. Honoring your grandmother trumps popularity in my opinion. |
I know three little girls named Ivy. |
I love it; only know a few, sprinkled from babyhood through middle school. |
It was the name of my first cabbage patch kid, but I've never met one in real life. I really like the name, go for it! |
OP here. Thank you guys SO much! I was expecting to be eaten alive. I posted it in a mom group and was lectured on how it's pretentious / hipster / awkward / etc. But, as a couple of you said, I love it and it honors my grandmother. Thank you! |
None. |
One toddler |
None, but I know a beautiful ferret by that name. |
One teen, one adult. |
I have only known one Ivy in my whole life! She was my sister's friend in college, which would now make her middle-aged. She was cool. I like the name (and that it was your grandma's.) |
Very pretty name. Love it |
I have a daughter named Ivy! She’s in elementary now. We’ve come across a few others but I don’t mind. I still adore her name today just like I did when I chose it. |
