| I would love to know what sort of reference St. Anselm's gave for that teacher to obtain two new teaching positions with in the same zip code as St. Anselm's. I am really disapointed in St. Anselm's. That man should not be still teaching. |
| I would too. Does anyone have any idea? Its hard to believe he is still teaching. |
| Why is it hard to believe this individual is teaching somewhere else? In the last analysis, all you are aware of is rumor and innuendo--you don't know the details of his departure. |
| Rumor has it that the Trinity and Kirov were told his "resignation" last November was over his pedagogical issues...Then why has this teacher been privately banned from St. Anselm's campus and from contact with his former student athletes? If his "resignation" were just about pedagogy, then that simply does not make sense. Has anyone contacted St. Anselm's and asked? |
| Yes, other busy-bodies, if this board is to be believed. |
Since you seem so concerned about it why don't you contact them and ask. You should also get in touch with Trinity and Kirov so you can get actual facts instead of having to rely on rumors. |
Good idea! Or maybe they could post on this forum. |

According to the media and postings on this website, Peterson at Sidwell, Eric Toth at Beauvoir, Kevin Ricks at Osborn High in Virginia were all well liked before they were arrested and had previous experience teaching and came to those respective schools with recommendations...
Why St. Anselm's would ban the former St. Anselm's teacher/coach from campus and future contact with its students and then later give recommendations to allow him to continue to work in education at Trinity and Kirov baffles me. I am sure some lawyer on who reads this will have a perfectly reasonable legal explanation but it seems to me that there is greater moral question here that should be addressed. |
| I know of a situation in which a camp counselor was asked to leave and banned from any contact with former campers or their families. The behavior in question was 1) sharing more personal information than was appropriate to the circumstances (not about sex, just about his life) and 2) complaining about his treatment by the camp director to the kids, to the detriment of the campers' trust in their community - basically trying to make the director look bad because he was angry. So there are reasons for firing and banning that are not related to sexual misconduct. |
As I'm sure you know, the St. Anselm's situation had nothing in common with those cases. You should probably tread lightly with your allegations. |
No shit. I agree Jeff. I KNOW the details of this case, and TRUST ME, it is NO WHERE anything CLOSE to what people are thinking. CALL THE SCHOOLS WITH YOUR QUESTIONS. |
The "ban" does not appear firmly established, nor could anyone here know if the school was even contacted for a recommendation for the individual in question. Ridiculous levels of rumor- mongering under the guise of seeking to address a "moral question." |
I've been disturbed by this thread. So, I looked in to these most recent statements. I spoke with a senior administrator at St. Anselm's. The teacher in question is most definitely banned from campus and contact with students. The teacher is not employed at Trinity. His application for permanent employment at Trinity was turned down. Trinity is aware of the circumstances of his departure from St. Anselm's. Finally, if he is employed at Kirov, then St. Anselm's did not give him a reference or recommendation of any kind. St. Anselm's will not do so. |
| He is coaching junior varsity at Gonzaga now. I doubt they bothered to ask St. Anselm's for a reference yet but when they do, it will be interesting. |
I don't think he is coaching there anymore. He is not listed on their website. He is still teaching at Kirov Ballet Academy though. Last I asked, St. Anselm's had not been asked for a reference by Kirov. |
