If you do something with your child but don’t post about it on social media, did it really happen?

I love seeing friend's posts but don't post any of my family for privacy reasons. I just don't trust Facebook with anything...

Me too but I made a lot more phone calls before Facebook

DP Wow, that is so funny! ( and sad) Did you honestly post that if you do not post than you assume they did nothing? What about the times when there wasn't any social media? Depending on how old you are I'm assuming your parents didn't post? Does that mean you didn't do anything? Probably not!

Hate to break it to the OP, but DCUM IS social media.

Your world is cold and dark.

Use What’s App to send pics to family......No need to post for the world to see. We don’t care about your kid anyhow.

WhatsApp is some kind of Euro thing. Or communist inspired. No?

omg. this made me literally spit out my wine! How old are you? You really think this about WhatsApp??

I go through phases of posting online. I once had a mutual friend do the whole "look down on me thinking we do nothing exciting on the weekend". I did enjoy watching her face when another friend asked how our various weekend trips had gone as we own a small plane and DH and I both have our pilots licenses. She honestly couldn't understand why I would want to post that all over FB.

Some of us have large familes. Much easier to post on Facebook. My family and friends do enjoy seeing pictures of my kids. We had a holiday a few days ago ( Eid) and my family was asking why I didn't post pictures of the kids. People like you sound miserable.

Nope. Not miserable at all. Quite happy actually and Eid Mubarak to you.

+1

I take lots of pics and share in small circles. I'm done with FB but clearly not everyone is.

LOL at WhatsApp being for commies

As long as they don’t post them having a poop on the potty I am A-OK with seeing the posts and enjoy watching all our kids grow out of the nest.

Whatsapp is for commies? Really?

You guys are missing out if you don't have that app. It is so easy to communicate with any friend or family who is on whatsapp just using wifi. You don't even need a data plan.

Whatsapp is more popular in Asia - people are part of various small groups and it is more addicting than Facebook. Easy to share to small groups. Good old Americans are behind the times. I still remember when SMS was more popular in 3rd world countries before texting became a thing here. Give it a few years and then whatsapp will be popular here too.
